Las Vegas Harrah's Las Vegas?

I am going to a wedding in Vegas in December and the bride has reserved a block of rooms at Harrah's. Has anyone stayed there? I've read mixed reviews and while we don't need fabulous and fancy, we do want clean and decent. Does anyone have any reviews about smells? Are they smokey smelling? I read one review that said even the non-smoking rooms stink. Hard to believe just one review though .... so hoping someone will have some input here.

Since the bride chose this place, we will likely stay there, but nothing has been booked yet .... but will probably soon. It does look like a good location and the price is good.

We stayed in 2010 and liked it. It was clean and felt safe. We were in a non-smoking room and did not notice a smoke smell in the room but really, there is smoke everywhere because it is allowed in the casinos so it would not surprise me that the rooms smell. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Now admittedly it is comped, so that is a strong reason why.
Location is great near mid strip; we have had 2 different styles of rooms--nicely redone, not fancy or themed, but nicely done. Never smelled.
Do ask for a room NOT facing Carnival Court--they go to 3AM & I could hear the words to the songs through the closed windows!
