Harmonious: how would you rate it?

Watched from the bridge to France. From that angle, the center screen looks like a weird tentacle tower which still looked interesting. The screens on the barge sides are well oriented though. Story wise, seemed easy to follow. Moana first with many different languages used, which makes sense for a movie that was well recorded in so many different languages in good quality. Then, songs to cover the different countries in the showcase. I really liked that new animations had been created in country specific styles and not just cut and pasted from the original films. Not sure if that was true for the main screen which I didn’t see.

Watched Craig's video talking about it and saw what I missed. It is pretty much a completely different show visually from the side. It feels like the tentacles and barges are doing more and make more sense from the side instead of being distractions. You do not get the laser effects in the same way that is for sure, but some of the fireworks were much more impressive from the bridge.

Another thing that made a difference, there was a large group of Spanish speaking guests nearby having a very good time, especially the Coco section. That shared experience watching the show is very different from watching on Youtube. 7.5/10

So far just have seen video. From the Disney Parks youtube video I thought it was a disappointment. A day or two later I saw Tim Tracker's video and it was way better to the extent that I'm now willing to give it a chance. We'll see when we're there in November.

I wish they would have paid homage to all of EPCOTS festivals.

That was part of Walts vision.

6/10 for me.
Technically impressive. I think the star gate is a miss as it is too limited of an angle. I liked the pyro. The music felt way, way too disjointed, like 7-8 vignettes and not one show. Coco/P&F sections were fun! Overall seriously lacked any story or cohesion. The Ending was bizarre too but I was prepared for it even with the limited spoilers.

Very disingenuous to talk about a fairer future when there’s some corporate event & their tents blocking half of the view from Italy 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Wait..... what?

There were a couple special events when we were there as well. My husband and son swear they passed by one of the actors from Avengers on Sunday evening. Looked like a dessert party by France bridge and by Italy.

Wait..... what?
I should have taken a photo but I didn’t. There was some sort of private event in Italy. I assumed corporate because I cannot imagine the price. That doesn’t bother me but the two green tents did because it blocked a good chunk of the pavilions view.

But that was coupled with some sort of comment about the world being a "fairer" place?

From the lyrics to Someday (from Hunchback). It was the last song played in HarmonioUS.

Someday
Life will be fairer
Need will be rarer
Greed will not pay
Godspeed
This bright millennium
On its way
Let it come someday

So much irony.

We saw it on 10/1. It's not something that can be viewed all around the lagoon since the main circular screen is only visible from the front and back. The weird arc screens are OK but only show some of the graphics that are on the central screen.

It's not a good retrospective of 50 years of disney - only IPs from the last 30 years or so are shown with a heavy focus on the last 10 or so years.

Viewing it was also difficult - There are the jerkhole guests who just meander up and sidle their way in front of people who lined up in prime viewing spots along the lagoon for hours to reserve a good spot. That's not Disney's problem to solve necessarily, but if they're going to block the view across the lagoon with the show apparatus and Stargate-looking thing, they should have gone all in and raised the platforms a few feet more to allow more people to view from further away and not need to cut in front of people who claimed the better spots.

The visuals were OK I guess. While I think it's lazy writing to just have a mashup of IPs in yet another show, I'm glad at least that it wasn't just clips from the movies.

I'll be the first to admit I'm watching vloggers' videos and am not there to see it. I have no doubt it makes a big difference to be there on the ground and be caught up in the show. But after the horrifying year and a half that we've all had, and that this is WDW's 50th anniversary, and knowing how high the bar was set with Illumininations, and how talented and top notch and top paid WDW's techies are, why the heck they couldn't have given us a feel good, we love you, we are so happy for your support and we will all save the world together show, God only knows. Harmonious comes off as cold and tech. We want and need the 'feels'. We want love and hugs. We want human and closeness. Not more cold, distanced tech and i.p. To heck with Zoom and the internet and crap net. We've suffered through that. We want real and heart-felt inspiration. We want real human communion and togethership. We want the darn Linus blanket. We really want Walt Disney to launch the fireworks and talk to us and make us feel better. Not the faceless corporation. For goodness sake, could they not have afforded Celine Dion to do the narration and thump her chest a little and tell us how much they love us and love the world? What a wasted opportunity and let down for fans and loyal guests. WDW massively misread what their people want. I'm not entitled. I don't live in the US and right now, with travel restrictions and job restrictions, can only visit virtually. I'm now 2 years without my WDW vacation and can't pop into Epcot on a whim. But at the end of it all, massive thanks and kudos to Craig and Ryno for their incredible work and covering this event. Gentlemen, you do the hard work each and every day. Thank you.

What does the abbreviation "IP" stand for, please?
