Chat is an option no phone call needed. Or you can book anything with those points like one night and it will default cancel the FW. Then just cancel that one night reservation. But I would bet they will allow for opting out online in the future.

Well, there's no fundamental reason it couldn't, but right now handling the fixed-week differential is a manual process. I suspect it is not worth spending the money to automate, because there just aren't that many FW owners (and there probably never will be).

So I think we have sort of figured out a plan. Or something plan-adjacent. Ha!

We have enough points for 6 nights at VGC in June 2026. And 7 nights at VGC in June 2027. So we are good with our current points for a bit longer.

Right now...we are seriously leaning towards getting 150-160 direct points at VDH. If we decide to go that route, we would want to purchase them no later than May 2027. Most likely between June 2026 and May 2027. With our June UY, we would then do MB (hopefully offered at that time) for 2026 points. Then we would bank all of our 2027 points into 2028 for a June 2028 VDH trip (1 bedroom, 7 nights.)

After that, we would basically alternate trips between VGC and VDH, mostly in June. Maybe in February here or there. Not sure.

There is still a chance we could decide to go with more VGC and not do VDH at all. But I think the price would have to be really good for that and I'm not sure I see that happening. Especially not a contract in our UY for the amount of points we want. We wouldn't do 160 there. We'd probably just do 100. But even so, the price would have to be good. Not like the current prices for VGC!

So that's our plan.....for now. Always subject to change, of course. But both my husband and I are liking VDH the more we research and look at it.

Buying just before your use year is an awesome move. Wish I had my act together to do the same thing but my husband just wasn't ready before December and I'm too impatient to wait until next November

Yeah...really have no idea when we'll purchase but hopefully sometime during our 2026 UY. A lot will depend on how much some upcoming house projects end up costing us. If they are more expensive than we planned....DVC could get pushed back.

One project my husband wants to attempt on our own but we'll see if that ever happens. We may just hire it out. That's one we want to get done in the first part of 2026. Then hopefully our bigger home project will get done in summer/fall 2026. We honestly have no clue what the cost of that one might be so figuring that out will really make or break when we can get some DVC points.
