Hard ticket vs. e-ticket question

Buying discounted tickets, what is the pro and cons of buying hard tickets over the e-tickets. The situation is that I will be purchasing tickets for people who will join us at WDW. We will be staying on-site, they will not. We have room to add them to our on-site room for ticket purposes (that is, we can get them magic bands), but wouldn't want them to access our room or our credit card. What is best in this situation? TIA.

If there is not price difference just get them the hard tickets. Then they have 0 reason to be on your room reservation as the ticket will still be linked to a MDE account and the plastic ticket will have a passive RFID in it. It will allow them to get in and use their Fastpasses as well as claim most on ride photos. The only thing they won't get is 7DMT ride video as well as their name on any interactive screens. As long as their MDE account is linked to you as a friend you'll be able to make FPs for them at 60 days as well they just won't be able to adjust them until the 30 day window opens.

Ah. They still don't need to be on your reservation. If they are on your reservation they have access to your room. There is no way to have them on the resort reservation but not give them access to the room. Also sounds like there are 3 people how many are in your group? Will that many people fit on your reservation? It will cost you up to 25 per a person per a night more for the 2 extra adults in your room so not really a savings on the theme park parking.

They can still get 60 days FP as long as you make them a managed account under your MDE. The system will let you make FP+ at 60 days for anyone on your friends and family so since you are making them a managed account you can do that for them.

No work around that we can discuss on this forum. So they either will get it form being on your reservation and have access to the room or they won't have it and have to pay daily.

Not a big deal. They won't even know they have access to our room.

And the credit card, IIRC, can't be used without a pin number right? so it can't be accidentally used, right?

You can turn off credit card usage. You just tell the CMs at the desk you do not want person X Y and Z to have charging privileges and then just don't give them your pin to be safe and they won't have access.
