Hard Ticket Necessary??

I have 2 comp tickets from DVC and I purchased 2 tickets from Undercover Tourist. I will be assigning them out this week.

Spoke to ticketing and they said it does not matter who the comp tickets are assigned to as long as they have not been used....and they have not.

So here is my question.... sometimes gate entry is VERY glitchy. Is there any reason that I need to carry anything with me to show that we have purchased tickets or is assigning them to our MBs enough? And what about the comp tickets? How would I even show proof for those.

Mom and wife are going to get the comp tickets. I am getting a ticket from UCT as will dad. I intend to upgrade mine to an AP after we arrive.

FYI = trips isnt until December.
 
I got hard tickets from UCT, but never needed them. The magic bands did the trick! I did take them to the park with me though just in case. If one of us didn't want to use our fp we could do that without trading bands. If you want hard tickets I think they can give you some at Guest Services.
 
Are comp tickets upgradeable? That would be my only question about who you link them to.
 

I always pop our hard tickets in our bag just in case there's a problem. Why not? They take up hardly any space for the peace of mind...

Once they’re in MDE it’s not necessary. Everyone who buys paperless lives with just MDE and no hard copy with no issues.
 
You aren't assigning the tickets to MagicBands. You are linking them to MDE profiles. As long as you can see that they are linked correctly, you are good.

I am "assigning them" because I am deciding who gets which ticket. And then yes, they are being linked in MDE.

That is kinda what I was asking... do they carry the paper with them everywhere on their trip? It seems with what Disney invested in the technology it should not be necessary, but we have had issues (a few years ago) and we were asked for our actual tickets.

They cannot be upgraded, but it really does not matter who uses it as long as it is not me. LOL :P I need a purchased hopper so I can upgrade to an AP. None of the others are upgrading to an AP.

Well even with paperless you have the confirmation code via email that you could show on your phone in an issue. Did your hard tickets come with an email confirmation?

The 2 comp tickets were just added by DVC, so I have no proof of those.
The two hard tickets I have.
 
I say it's always necessary just in case. We have magicbands but don't use them as we prefer using the tickets, but even if we used them we would still have the tickets as backup

Just bought tickets from UCT. I always make sure I get hard tickets and then use the number to assign them in MDE. And I make sure I take the hard ticket with me at least until I enter a park for the first time. I do this for a couple of reasons. One is that UCT can refund a hard ticket for 90 days if you need to cancel your trip or change dates. They do not refund Etickets. Secondly, we bought tickets from UCT 4 years ago. I linked them in MDE. But when we went to enter a park on our first day, 4 out of 9 bands didn’t show the tickets. So we had to go back to the room to get the hard tickets. Just glad we brought them. MS took care of it. But not sure how they would have handled it if we didn’t have the hard ticket.
