Hard Rock Vault - verdict

I am a massive fan of music memobillia so i had to go to the Hard Rock Vault near The Mercado on International Drive.

It has not been open long so i expect that there will be more things added over time.

There is a 15 minute tour in there where a guide takes you around - i think to four rooms - there is the white costume that Madonna wore on the 'Like aVirgin' album cover, Elvis's tux (when he sang with Frank Sinatra), Jim Morrison's trousers and all of the Beatles suits when they were on that famous American Show - i can't remember its name!

You can record a song in there too for 20 bucks! I had to do this!

Worth the $15 i thought.

I really enjoyed this as well. I consider it one of the better "tourist-trap" attractions on I-Drive.

When you enter you are left to meander through a large room featuring your typical Hard Rock Cafe items from all genres and periods of music, until your tour is ready.

From this point, you are taken on a 15 minute guided tour, which overall is very good. Each room has a specific theme, beginning with the 70's punk scene.

The only flaw that I found with the tour is that there is too much time dedicated to some time periods/genres, and nothing from others. For example, there are several Elvis rooms, however nothing really from classic metal (AKA Metallica, Moterhead, Iron Maiden, Guns N Roses). Everything on the tour is great and interesting...I just think too much is left out.

If you're into that kind of stuff you might enjoy a visit to Notable and Notorious in LBV Factory Stores. They have a fender signed by over 150 rock musicians plus numerous other pieces lying around the store.

Also, they have one of six Pinhead figures, several props from movies and lots of other interesting stuff.
