Hard Rock Suite Upgrades?

We are staying at the HRH the first week of January in a Deluxe room at the Fan Club rate of $202 per night (no ENT rates were available). I am also a Loews First member and was recently upgraded to Gold status when Loews matched my Starwood Gold status. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck upgrading to a suite at the HRH either by paying the $35 upgrade for Loews Gold members or were they lucky enough to get a complimentary upgrade? If so, what kind of suite options are available at the HRH besides the Kid Suite (my kids are 13 and 16 and the Kid Suites seemed geared to the younger crowd).

These upgrades are supposedly only available at check-in time but has anyone had any luck faxing or emailing requests prior to arrival?

Any info anyone has would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ted

I can offer you suggestions but that's about it being I've never stayed at the HRH. I have read over the year of folks not getting an upgrade because the HRH seems to sell out so fast, being your there in a possible non peak time you may get lucky. I have not heard of anyone getting a suite w/o having to pay though. You can go to the universalstuido.com online and pull up the HRH and see all the various suites I can't remember them by name and don't know the order in which they do upgrades. You would qualify for an upgrade though because you are paying over 200 for a room. You would have a much greater chance getting an upgrade at the PBH because it's not booked out like the RPH AND HRH. I have heard several reports of upgrades there and could help you further if you where asking about the PBH maybe someone will just on this thread and help you out more. I would suggest to you that you give guest services at the HRH directly a call and make all your request. Don't ask for resverations ask specficly for guest service and make friends.LOL I recommend you call 30 days before your trip so the room comptroller knows your request. I am staying at PBH and they assign rooms 30 days out and I called this morning and know where my room location is and all the details and was told all my request where no problem. They have not failed me yet! Have a great vacation.

Thanks for the info Tammy. I will give Guest Services a call but I just booked the room yesterday (we are arriving 2 weeks from tomorrow) so I'm wondering if they would already have assigned us a room?

Hi I am also interested in what you find out. Please let us know what happens. I was considering the HRH but with no suite upgrade I would be better off at the PBH.... Thnaks... Have fun!

We were there the 1st week of December and were booked for a club level room. When we arrived I asked if any kids suites were available nad they did not have any, however they offered us a king suite on the club level for $35.00 more. When we got to the room it appeared to be a regular sized room with onlly 1 bed and a pull out sofa, which would not work for our family. We have 2 kids (3 & 5) and a baby. So we switched back to the 2 queen room. Then the next day I called guest services and asked if any kidsuites were available and explained what happened the previous day ( the front desk person should never have sent us to a king suite with 3 kids!!) and they offered to move us to a kid suite on a differant floor and let us keep the club privledges as well for NO ADDITIONAL COST!! so we got the kids suite with all the club amenities for a bargain rate of $194.00. It was the best !! The suite was huge and we all had our own space. We will definetly be returning to the HRH. They really went out of their way.

P.S. The kidssuites would be fine for your family, they are not too childish at all and the extra room is definetly worth it!

Laura, How did you get the 194 rate WITH club level??? I am trying to figure out what I need to book. I would love to have the club privileges as well. Thanks!

We booked using the "all access" card. It cost $25.00 and it came with a HardRock Cap and 2 pins and also $20.00 to use at the HR Cafe. It was WELL worth it.
