Hard Rock Punta Cana or Beaches Ocho Rios?

We are on a Disney break (or so my H thinks, lol) and are trying to plan our next Jersey Week vacation. We went to Beaches Negril last year and LOVED it, but there are so many places to go in the word that I try not to stay at the same place twice (even in Disney!).

I've narrowed it down to 2 resorts. Hard Rock looks awesome, but HUGE. Beaches is a brand we know & love. Tough choice!

There's 5 of us and the girls will be 9, 6 and 3 when we travel.

Any experiences to share?

Can you afford, at all, to go to Beaches Turks and Caicos? Turks and Caicos and spectacular Grace Bay Beach are on my bucket list.

About Punta Cana... I would choose Cancun/Mayan Riviera over Punta Cana. Hands Down.

Happy Planning!

I would love to take my family to Beaches Turks and Caicos for vacation. I priced it out for next year and I think it was either $24,000 or $26,000 for a week. :lmao::rotfl::lmao:I must have blocked out the actual number, it was so ridiculous.

No, T&C is not in the budget :( We're using our Southwest miles to fly and they don't fly there.

We're looking for a resort with a lot of kids activities, which is why we nixed Mexico. H & I have been to 2 Palace Resorts in Mexico and LOVED it, but their kids activities are lacking. Once the girls are older we'll defintely head back.

H said he's not interested in Hard Rock now because he read adults can't use the water slides, lol, so it looks like we're headed to Ocho Rios.

We have stayed at all three - Beaches Ocho Rios, Beaches Turks and Caicos, and went to the Hard Rock Punta Cana in June.

The best is Beaches, Turks and Caicos, hands down - no comparison.

Our second favorite is the Hard Rock, Punta Cana. There are tons of activities for kids to do there. Our group of 5 (all cousins, ages 10 to 17) literally played all day. From beach volleyball to putt putt golf (one of the best courses we have ever seen) to riding bikes, they had a blast!

The beach in Punta Cana beat the Jamaica and Turks and Caicos beaches also! It seemed to stretch forever before you reached the ocean!

Beaches Ochos Rios was OK. I mainly just remember all of the bugs that bit us on the beach!

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Hard Rock! It's on our list for a future vacation -- again, when my girls are older and I won't need the kids clubs.

I didn't stay at Beaches, but I was INCREDIBLY underwhelmed by Ocho Rios. I think I'd go so far as to say I was disappointed.
