Hard Rock Hotel?

We had a pool view room a couple of weeks ago and did NOT get turndown service. ( I didn't request it, so it must not come automatically.)

If you are in a garden or poolview room and want turndown service you can call star services (* on the phone key pad) and request it. Some kousekeeping staff just do it and some dont.

What exactly do they do for turn down service? I can't remember from our last stay there.

they have the rooms lights dimmed low, the radio on, bedspread turned down and a trinket on each pillow is left.

so far i have received, guitar magnets, candy, beaded necklace, bracelot, glow smiley bounce ball, candy, etc

Thanks will remember that.

Can I also ask, we have loews card that may give us an upgrade at check-in. We also want to request hight up room, may get upgrade to pool view. Should I just wait until check in or should I be e`mailing or ringing someone?

We are booking thru Loews site.

Thanks

Sorry to jump in here, but I have a question about HRH too...We are staying for our first time in early October. Does anyone have a suggestion on a room or floor I should request? We have a garden view reserved, hopefully to be upgraded to pool view. I've read that higher floors give better views, but I'd like to be close to the elevator I guess so we don't have to walk all over the hotel to get somewhere.

hi, hope this answer helps both posters who asked the question.

i am also staying at hrh in early october.
i have the loews platinum card and made a ressie for garden view and was allowed for the free upgrade to king suite when i made the ressie.

if you are platinum, you can do the upgrade at the time you make your reservation.

if you are gold, you can request the free upgrade at the time you check in if a suite is available.

if you are blue and book the garden view, your upgrade would be to a pool view.

always book the cheapest room/GV and get the free upgrade and only pay the rate for the GV room. platinum holders have a guarentee, but blue doesn't.
i have heard of some gold members that were able to get the free upgrade at the time they booked, but they went at a time with lower occupancy at the hrh.

if rooms are available, then you can get the free upgrade.

there are no king suites available for about 10 -11 days in october right now. they are booked up.
there is always the possibility of someone canceling their ressie where it would open up a suite though

you can request the floor when you check in.

7th floor is club level and not available unless you pay the additional cost for it.
i recommend floors 5-6 for views.

the garden view rooms are on the upper floors. you can get views of the boat dock, waterway, front of hrh, parking garage.

when you check in, make the request then.

i have always listed "upper floor" on my ressies and didn't get it until i checked in. even though it was on my initial ressie, it was ignored.

i have never had a problem at hrh in my 17 stays there in getting an upper floor when i checked in.

there are some views that are obstructed, if you take one, you can get the rate discounted.

much of the foliage and trees have grown up since the hotel was built.
even on the 5th floor, you may have a tree block part of your view.

if you are on lower floors, you can have a restricted view

Geat info macraven, many thanks.

We only have the blue card. Should we just hope for an upgrade when we check in or mention before hand? either by phone or e`mail or even fax.

Can I ask who you book thru, is it Loews or the Universal site or do you do it on the telephone. It will be our first visit to HRH can only do one night so would like everything to be `right`.

Thanks again.

i always call universal resort reservation.
i prefer phone as i can talk to a ressie clerk directly.
this is better for me as i ask what are the specials for my dates that are not shown yet.

and i ask her/him to see which of my discounts would be to my advantage.
i have aaa and ap and mc.
that way i can get the most for my money.

i have platinum loews. when you book at that card level, you get the upgrade then. don't have to wait until you check in. can also put notes on your file of special requests such as "upper floor level"

i always get the name of the person i am talking to in case there is an oops that happens when i check in.
