Harbor Hotel Choice

I haven’t heard anyone mention the Best Western Park Place Inn. This is the hotel that is AT the crosswalk, with the PVI being right next door. The BWPPI has been our go to for awhile, it’s clean and includes breakfast (that we have never even tried because I like to eat in Disneyland) and parking is $10/day.
We are skipping it this time to try the Candy Cane Inn. We are saving about $220 by doing so. Have you looked into the Candy Cane Inn?
It’s a longer walk than the ones right across the street on Harbor but only by a few minutes and they have their own private shuttle to use when you don’t feel like walking.

I did check both of those out and they are about the same price as Park Vue. It's just Tropicana and Fairfield that are coming in with a couple hundred dollar savings. From all the feedback, I'm definitely leaning toward Tropicana. Just need to get DH and DS on board since they liked the look of Park Vue

Isn’t the Tropicana the one that just had renovations? I’d pick that one because the rooms look nice and sleek and clean...and proximity!

I was just trying to decide between BWPPI and Park Vue. Is there a parking fee at Park Vue? How is the breakfast?

ETA: I just called Park Vue. They said they have full size bunks and no parking fee, but they do have a $10 resort fee.

I’d go whichever is cheaper. Bwppi has a $10 parking fed as well.

I have stayed at BWPPI and Desert Inn & Suites. DI&S has large rooms and separate area to watch TV after the kids go to bed. We originally booked the Family Suite with 1.5 bathrooms but were upgraded to the one with 2 full bathrooms. I had a Vons order delivered to the hotel and we had snack food, salads, bread and meat for sandwiches. We did a cruise first so we tried not to eat out at lunch.

I never use the pool, so an indoor pool didn't matter. The kids had fun using it. It was nice having all the room to spread out in (everyone had their own bed). 3TV's was a bit much but nobody could complain that they didn't want to watch what was on.

Breakfast was fine. I heard they were expanding the dining area. Coffee was gross but that was quite a few years ago. (Go to Denny's, nextdoor or wait until you get to DL for coffee, IHOP charges Starbucks prices).

@cassiopia419 , the pedestrian route between the Tropicana and the Fairfield on Google is 2x longer than what anyone would actually walk. In real life, you would turn toward the hotel's lobby by walking between the McDonalds and the Panera Bread (while the map sends you past the restaurants and stops in the back parking lot where you don't enter). It's less than a minute more in walking. The charge for parking is the same as valet-parking - you pay the same $19 per day no matter how you park, so take your car to the valet station if you can't find a spot. There are self-parking challenges at the Tropicana, if you go by what's written on TripAdvisor, and you would be forced to use their valet if the self-park slots are full. So it's not like the Fairfield has worse parking - both hotels face self-parking capacity issues.

Both hotels are fully renovated but the Tropicana rooms have new carpet while the Fairfield installed hard floors in their rooms. The Tropicana rooms have a microwave while the Fairfield Inn rooms do not. Both hotels offer mini refrigerators. Those are the only notable room differences between the two as both have done a great job with updates.

Panera Bread and McDonalds are in the same parking lot as the Fairfield, and you will pass them while walking. I use the Panera app to order and pay for a meal, then grab it at the Rapid Pick Up stand on the way back to the room. Also at the Fairfield there is a pizza place and counter service food spot on the 3rd floor, so you can get a cup of "Seattle's Best" in the morning if you don't want to use the in-room coffee maker. The Tropicana has a large convenience market at the main entrance and I often stop there for pop and half/half on my walk back to the room.

Fairfield can also be a walk at the end of the day. We stayed at the new Courtyard 2 years ago in June and it was HOT and the walk seemed endless. Stayed at Grand Legacy last month, it was okay. The room we had was sleepable but the AC unit was gross. But, the walk was great. However, I would go with Tropicana. That's where we planned to stay for Thanksgiving.

We just got home after 8 nights at the Fairfield Inn. The walk was very easy to and from the parks and only took 5 - 10 minutes depending if you made the light at the crosswalk.

We had sixth floor premium view room on the corner. We could see rides and fireworks at night. Unfortunately, we faced the waterpark at the Courtyard Marriott next door so my kids were a bit dismayed when they saw that...and realized it wasn't at our hotel.

We used the pool twice but the weather was quite chilly last week so my kids did not last long in it.

We hit McDonalds up almost every night for a late night snack or milkshakes. I used the rapid order on the Panera app several times as we left our room to pick up food on our walk to the park.

We would definitely stay here again!
