Happy to get our BWV add-on

Our guide, Byron, just called with the good news, we got a 109 point add-on at BWV for our use year (August). It's actually two contracts, one 59 and one 50, but I don't think that will be a problem.

We closed on our original 200 point BWV contract in June, and quickly got the add-on fever while planning for our first trip home. Called Byron the beginning of July and got luckly already. Now if we can only get another 100 point or so BCV add-on I think we'll be cured, at least for now!

I don't think a cure has been discovered - remission is the best you can hope for!

How long did it take to get your add on? How do you go about formally requesting an add on? We're BWV members & would like to add on, but we're not sure if our new guy will ever remember our request.

How long have others had to wait for an add on through Disney?

I would have to agree with everyone: add-on fever is an addiction and there is no cure. It's even worse when you have CPD, Compulsive Planning Disorder. When you starting saying things like "you know, if we bought 50 more points we could add an extra trip in 2007 and then extend our January 2009 trip" you know you've got a problem.

We waited a month to get our add-on, but our Guide mentioned that he's been looking for BWV points for a September use year for over a year know, so the wait time can vary. To request the add-on I just called our Guide and told him I was interested in 100 - 200 points at either BWV or BCV. He took a credit card number for a down payment to secure any contract that became available. From what I understand, it's first-come, first-served when points become availalble, the fastest Guide gets the points. Byron seems to be pretty good at checking the points available list everyday and securing contracts, plus it's a pleasure to work with him. Good luck!

My add-on thru DVC came thru a couple of weeks ago. 106 pts. at BWV. I chose to break it up into 2 contracts.

My guide checks everyday too!

No, I didn't choose to break up the contract, there were two different contracts available. I guess they couldn't combine them so now I have three contracts, 200, 59, and 50 points, but I don't see that as a problem. Congrats on your add-on!

Skip, several people have posted today saying that their Guides informed them that Disney is going to implement a waitlist system for buying add-ons (whew, that sentence just went on and on)!!. In addition, the price is going up to $89, effective as of today, for sold-out resorts!

Did you get your add on from your Disney Vacation Club Guide? I thought the only way to purchase an add on for a sold out resort was to go through a timeshare resale store. Could you please let me know asap, as I will call my DVC guide immediately and put myself on a wait list for 50 BWV points with an OCT use year! Thanks so much -

Yes, through our Disney Guide, they will sell sold out resorts when the points become available. However, DVCforWe3 is right, the policy used to be first-come, first-served, but now they are implementing a wait-list system, so the sooner you can get on that list the better. Also, if the contract if 50 points or more you can use Disney financing. Good luck!

Byron seems to be a great guide!!! I want Byron if my guide doesn't get her finger out and get me an add on at BCV or BWV very soon...I am going to pester her every day I think !!!
