Interesting that civil servants had yesterday off as a Public Holiday in lieu of St Andrew's Day

The letter to Local Authorities encouraging them to recognise St Andrew's Day was met by a deafening silence.

Yes tbh it's a bit of a non entity isn't it Strange as well that my friend who's a school teacher in a different region to where I live had yesterday (in-service) and today off for it and none of the schools in my area were off (not due to the snow either!).
