2026 - The semiquincentennial birthday of the greatest country the world has ever known!

I remember celebrating the bicentennial in 1976. That was a fun year of celebrating! The fireworks from all over the country were unbelievable. Now, with the semiquincentennial right around the corner, the celebrations and parties will be bigger than ever!

Will you be doing anything extra special for next year's Independence Day celebration?

I am so excited and trying to rev people up with me. We are planning history-related trips for the kids and generally planning festivities. The American 250 website has great resources.

I think they should re-boot the old 'america rock' (aka-'history rock') cartoon segments of schoolhouse rock that began airing on tv in anticipation of the bicentennial. i'm sure there are MANY like myself who learned the preamble to the constitution to the catchy little tune it was sung to

I went to Disneyland during the summer of '76-lots of fun and I still have my bicentenial pin.
