New Year’s Eve dining

I wonder why she thinks that. Epcot is huge.

Yeah, has Epcot ever actually reached capacity? I know that if it did, NYE would be the night it would happen, but Epcot just has too much room for poeple. Maybe what they used to call Phase 1 closure or something (which was just the parking lot), but actual capacity? That's hard to imagine.

With all due respect to the CM, I can 100% guaranty you a dining reservation phone CM has absolutely no connection to or knowledge of park operations plans. Love Disney, but phone CM’s (and bus drivers) are notorious for just making stuff up. They may even legitimately think it’s true for some reason. But Disney is an extremely large company with lots of divisions and tentacles - communication, CM training, and direct knowledge are often lacking.

I did take it with a grain of salt, but she was emphatic that it has closed to capacity.

I believe it has - on New Years Eve 1999! It is estimated that Epcot can hold approximately 100,000 people. Short of rigning in the new milennium, I doubt that's too likely. Keep in mind that they may close the parking lot or to guests arriving via car, then to non-resort guests or guests without ADR's etc. I don't know how all the "phases" work these days. If you are a resort guest with ADR though you'd be among the last excluded. To reach the point there a fire marshall is literally saying no more bodies - I think that's a longshot for Epcot.

Now, at the other parks it is possible, but Epcot has the largest guest accessible space.

She worried me for no reason essentially.

I've had a run of really good ones lately. I'm sure my luck won't last.
