January 7th

We had a very special date with a castle this morning and I don't know who was more excited, me or DD. You see, the buildup to a CRT breakfast is a bit hysterical. First you find out about it and realise this is every little girls dream. Then you read how hard it is to get a PS so you tap in to a PS calculator, you practice your calling technique to Disney Dining until you get it down perfect and you wait for the special day, that 90 day mark when everyone races for the golden ticket. I remember when the CM picked up straight away I could hardly speak, I babbled out some info, she gave me the PS no and i then called everyone I knew because it felt like I'd given birth all over again (ok, maybe too much, but I did feel a a bit dizzy :rotfl2: ). So here we were , the big day.

We got to MK about 8:15 as it was EMH and strolled through without anyone batting an eye. I feel sorry for the genuine resort guests because CMs are not being choosy about who comes in the park.Wow, a deserted fantasyland! This was amazing. We rode Dumbo, Peter Pan, Winnie The Pooh by 9am and strolled over to the CRT entrance knowing we had beaten the crowds good! :flower: . Fairy Godmother was sitting in the lobby but Cara was happy to just watch her. It wasn't long before we were called in a suitably royal way and climbed the winding staircase. Cara said later that this staircase was how she knew she was in a real castle (aaah). We were seated at 2 tables on the side but I could see out over Fantasyland from my table and it was a little bit overwhelming really to just know where I was, what i could see and how awestruck everyone else was too. Of course the princesses were in rotation and we saw Snow White, Auroura, Belle, Mary Poppins and Cinderella herself. I dropped in casually to each princess how nice it was to see them again after the other day and they cottoned on pretty quick and said the right things to the kids. Cinderella though, they really enjoyed. Cara was starstruck but delighted and just hugged her. She also does the most beautiful loopy signature which adds to her persona. I asked Mary Poppins if she wouldn't mind talking to the children about their messy rooms and she gave them a wonderfully entertaining lecture which they paid more attention to then they ever have for me. She also showed James (DH) how to stand like a gentleman, very funny if you know James :rotfl2: . BTW, food was ok, but why do they need to put blueberry sauce near bacon and sausage? Yuck!

Into Philarmagic next which was everything I hoped it would be, completely Disney with a beautiful soundtrack to boot. Very pleased with this one. Hope Donald got down ok. On to the tea cups. Not sure if this was a good idea as I seem to be getting more sensitive to spinny things as i get older, but oh well, its the kids favourite ride so here goes... glad thats over. Everything still a walk on BTW. Into Toontown and we head for the Barnstormer. This was Dean's first coaster at 3 but did it phase him? No way. he just wanted to go again so again they went. Had a look round County Bounty while they rode and boy, I know how Disney are making their money. has anyone else clocked these DIY princess tiaras? Forst you buy the basic tiara, then you customise it with jewels, charms, dangly bits. Please do not let Cara see these.. she didn't. Phew. Took a tour of Minnie's house which was cute as always but I couldn't get to the stuff I wanted to play with like the microwave because of all the kids. Must be grown up about this but awww... :Pinkbounc . Pluto was waiting for us in the garden and he played a lovely game of peek-a-boo behind the autograph book at the kids level. All were charmed.

Just one more stop before home and this was to Ariel's Grotto. Normally I do not condone lines for characters but she is a different kettle of fish :rotfl: Sorry, couldn't help it....I think I stood in line for about 25 mins while my kids got soaked in the jumping fountains outside. Boy was I jealous. the magic moment arrived and she was just charming. Beautiful, full of character and understood my need to play along too. i wanted to burst into song right there just like when I was a girl (out of the sea....) but i refrained for the sake of James :love2: .

Time to get out of here I think. It was getting hot and crowded but we had done all I had wanted to this morning. I think it was 12:30 when we left and we headed for a rest. Picked up McD on the way but the kids were out by the time we got home.

A sleep later and most of us are feeling better. Alex is not himself and thinks he has overdone it. The plan for tonight was WS and Illuminations. james offers to stay with Alex and look after Charlie so Lyndsay, myself, Dean and |Cara head for the world. Priority tonight was meeting Beast in France so we head there first. Turns out we had 30 mins to wait. What to do? eat of course. We found the patisserie and sampled cheesecake, strawberry mousse and tart, all gorgeous, all overpriced :rotfl: . We then lined up by the side of the perfumerie. Oh my gosh, is he big (and just a little scary) Dean refused to go near, he just watched. I had a hug so cara did too and he really wasn't that bad (he he). Morocco next to meet Genie and Aladdin. This was the grumpiest CM I have ever come across (Aladdin) and maybe should have been taken backstage. Not that my kids cared, because all they wanted was to meet genie. He is Dean's absolute favourite and Dean bounced all over the room. Once outside, we got lost in the bazaar (Mummy, we're in Aggrabah, d'oh) and I got conned into buying 2 handacrved recorder type instruments. Won't daddy be pleased?! Outside the bellydancer was at work and cara did a pretty good job of copying her. Where did my 5 year old learn her moves. Little bit worried for 10 years time now. Next stop we made was Japan to look at the garden (in the dark, very clever I know) and to try sushi for the first time ever. Yum yum. Lyndsay had the terriyaki platter which smelled devine and the kids refused to try at all. Just as well USA is next..that'll be chicken nuggets then. In a bit of a rush now as its 8pm. We go for a spin in Maelstrom which is ok but a bit dated and then El Rio Del Tempo which is also dated but the Mexican pavillion was gorgeous. So much colour and character, I could have stayed for much longer. The CMs were interacting with the kids so nicely too, trying to teach them Spanish. Anyway, lets find a spot for Illuminations. We settled for between China and Norway and got ready. BOOM...BOOM..Dean jumped into my lap for his life. He watched the rest of the show in silence but with a viper grip on me. He later said it was very pretty and could he see some more. Go figure. We made it to the exit and amazingly found the boys in the car. A great day with great memories. And a free day tomorrow.

C u soon,
Claire :flower:
