Hello all you fun Disney people:woohoo:. I am so excited about all the learnin' I'll be doin' here. We are in the process of planning a 6 day 7 night trip to Disney and we have a year to get it right. The first trip I took with my Husband and oldest son back in 2001 was maticulously planned and was perfect in every detail. When we went back in 2003, again with just my hubby, Jim and our son, Logan. It was not nearly as well planned and I paid for it. I was stressed, unorganized, and I didn't feel like we all had as much fun. I even lost my family for three hours and was balled up crying in hysterics as I sit on the steps at Main Street trying to find my family (long story I'll share sometime I can laugh at it all now).
This trip need to be well organized, cost efficient, and FUN! We added a new cast member to our family. Hayden will be five by the time of our trip and this will be his first experience flying and visiting Disney world. :cheer2:
I am a forum addict and I plan to make this site my new obsession as I take is as much info and advice as you good people can throw at me.
Happy New Year all!! Let the Planning BEGIN!!!!:dance3:

Welcome!!!!!!!!! I enjoy planning the trip!!!! :wizard: This site has great info.!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

That's my next post. We are going to stay in Downtown Disney at either The DoubleTree Suites or The Royal Plaza Resort. How about your family?

We Will be staying at the Beach Club..... No interest staying at one of the Disney resorts?

We considered staying at Port Orleans but after I found out about the seven hotels in DTD we decided we could add a couple more days to our trip if we went the econo route.

Welcome, and congrats on your upcoming trip!

We have found that the planning is a great part of the fun. Between this board and AllEars, you are sure to find a wealth of info for that. Even when our DKs were as young as your youngest, we let them in on planning a meal or two.

Our most valuable tip was to plan time in the middle of the day for downtime for your youngest. So many people miss the great nighttime activities (like must-dos such as Spectromagic and Wishes) because they are just too pooped by dinner. Sometimes this could be going back to the hotel for a nap, or something just as relaxing, like a spell in a rocking chair at Fort Langhorne on Tom Sawyer's Island.

Remember that these message boards have lots of different sections to address any questions you have about anything. It is a community that enjoys helping, so enjoy the asking.

Again, congratulations on your trip, and welcome!
