We're keeping to family tradition and having Bagna Calda for dinner tonight (it's an Italian fondue kind of a thing with TONS of garlic).

We're having friends over for dinner and then to ring in the new year.

Kind of low key. But I can't imagine a better way to welcome 2010!

What about the rest of you?

Well, DS and I have just decided we are too lazy to make the 11:20 AM showing of Princess & the Frog. So maybe we'll see it tomorrow or Saturday.

I think we are going to go to PF Chang's for dinner tonight.

That's about it!

And a big platter of smelly French cheese and some REAL foie!

We all start at my house-
Then we go onto a fancy-schmancy restaurant.
More wine, more drinks .... Then who knows.

We do not dig Pei Wei. We have tried, it just isn't our thing. Chang's, on the other hand...

I thought DS didn't want to see Princess & Frog, then last night he said he did. DH doesn't want to see it, which is fine. Hopefully we will get there in the next few days.

We've got bubbly, but not the fancy kind like you. We've got three bottles of Ballatore Asti Spumante. It's cheap, sparkly, and fruity. Like me!

Plus a couple bottles of cheap Andre Champagne because a couple of our friends like to "fire" the champagne corks out of the bottles, and I'm not going to let them waste wine that I like by shooting it across the room. We're going to let them pop the bottles out in the yard.

Greens and blackeyed peas (cooking these today w/bacon) tomorrow.

Tonight, probably nothing special; the boys will almost fer-sure go out so it'll just be me and Mr. Chuck. I'm thinking about maybe making a pot of minestrone soup (already have the chick peas, tomatoes, and sausage) and getting some nice crusty sour-dough bread. SUPER LOW KEY -- we'll probably fall asleep waiting for the ball to drop on TV.
