Hi all,

Happy New Year ! I haven't posted for a while (just lurked looking at all your trip reports and expert answers!)

Anyway here we are in 2008 and we are off to Disney the first week of April now I'm started to get really excited :cool1:

So folks here are the start of my no doubt many questions :

We are travelling Eurostar direct from Ashford - how long in advance should we check in as I think the train leaves quite early and we will have a couple of hours drive in rush hour traffic ! Or should I say in reality what pre check in time do you all suggest travelling with a 5 year old.....:confused3

Next, what is the luggage allowance on Eurostar for adults and children and what is the room for storing your luggage like....

Can you get food on the train (is it expensive ?) or is it ok to take your own food ?

Finally (for now lol !) we are staying at the Sequioa can we (or should we ?) walk from the Eurostar train station to the hotel or do we have to get a bus or shuttle that some others have talked about ?

Also, my son aged 5 has Aspergers and I had thought of bringing a doctors letter re getting some help in queues etc as suggested in anothor post - if I do should I go to City Hall on arrival or should I contact Disney or the hotel before I go to see if or how they can help !

So sorry for all the questions, but am actually starting to realise although it will be a fantastic trip we have never tried our little one with such a full on holiday before and if I don't really forward plan it will be a disaster ....

Thanks

Michelle

This is from the Eurostar site The check-in time for Eurostar is 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure if you are already in possession of your tickets or 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure if you still need to collect your tickets.
I've only ever travelled from Waterloo where there was a huge departure area and shops/refreshment facilities so I always checked in early as it was quite pleasant waiting there. Hopefully someone who has travelled from Ashford will check in soon so will be able to help.

Also from their site The luggage allowance on board Eurostar is two pieces of average suitcase-sized luggage and one piece of hand luggage per passenger.

Please note:
Your luggage must be no more than two metres in length.
Although there is no weight limit, you must be able to lift it into the storage racks provided

There is a place at the end of each carriage for luggage, also racks above the seats.

Yes, you can but it's expensive and not particularly child-friendly so best to take your own snacks.

Finally (for now lol !) we are staying at the Sequioa can we (or should we ?) walk from the Eurostar train station to the hotel or do we have to get a bus or shuttle that some others have talked about ?
I would certainly get the shuttle bus the day you arrive as you will have your luggage but otherwise it's a pleasant walk of about 15 minutes.

Also, my son aged 5 has Aspergers and I had thought of bringing a doctors letter re getting some help in queues etc as suggested in anothor post - if I do should I go to City Hall on arrival or should I contact Disney or the hotel before I go to see if or how they can help !
I would definitely bring a letter from your doctor and show it to the CMs in City Hall.

Hope I've been some help and that you will have a fabulous holiday. :goodvibes
