OMG ~ wait to DH wakes up! I just booked 2 nights at FW over Thanksgiving.

Here's the funny parts. We've never camped before & the Thanksgiving trip was just casually mentioned by DH& MIL yesterday.
Although we do have a tent (actually for at least 3/4 years) we just set it up for the first time in the backyard end of April, but DH was going out of town so had to take it down the next day and never actually slept in it.

Our DDs will be 9 & 7 and this is our 2 year in Girl Scouts (so we'll be naturals), DH did camp as a kid, we love Disney and I've read wonderful things about FW = Priceless!

Jealous! All I got was a card.

We camped over Thanksgiving years ago, I think it was 1992 and we had the best time! I remember that we went to a special Thanksgiving elebration meall at the pavilion where they now have the BBQ. There were all kinds of pioneer style games and things and it was a blast. The kids had so much fun!

Thank you all so much! I stayed up for hours pouring over your camping threads. DH came out to get me so I spilled the beans at 3am. And this morning we told the girls. The whole family is crazy excited, we loved looking at everyone's pics!!

Jennifer ~ we are jealous of you! Love the camper & hope you left the Bears sticker. You were worried about your camper, I can't imagine what our little tent will look like. That was actually my first thought ~ I could only get a premium & we just have a tent ~ what will our neighbors think?

And now for my first of I'm afraid very many questions. Any recommendations on a loop?

In 04, we stayed on a preferred site with our tent. We got some weird looks
from some people in their huge travel trailers and motorhomes. We just figured they were jealous of the awesomeness of our tent and the gas we saved by driving our 4 cylinder Saturn.

Seriously, though, I'm sure that ya'll will have a blast.

Have you thought of how to stake the tent down? You said you're on a premium site, right? Premium sites are all asphalt, so no sand pad.

Thanks Yoda Girl! And no... stake down thoughts ~ plus asphalt sounds hard.
I thought I'd read it might be a problem, but then I also saw a few others that have premium tented it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
