Used Happy Limo for four transfers:

Round Trip between MCO and Holiday Inn Family Suites
Round Trip between Holiday Inn Family Suites and Port Canaveral

This was editted from my longer comparison in the Disney Cruise Boards comparing DCL to RCCL

We arranged with Happy Limo for all of our ground transfers. Before going on the trip I found a few things I have found I did not like. First is that they charge a 20% gratuity automatically, and would not waiver from this even when requested. I have spent a good time in service industries as well as traveling and know how to tip for the service rendered, I take offense at not being allowed to tip according to the service I feel was delivered, I think it discourages service which goes above and beyond. (Please lets not start a big discussion on this, its my personal feelings, your mileage may vary)

The other thing I do not like is that we have to find our luggage then call them to send a car around. Traditionally I have had drivers meet us and help with the luggage, rather having to get a porter to help with the bags while we find the driver. Perhaps it fits with my concern of diminished service related to the tipping issue, or perhaps it is related to some regulations at MCO. I will know when we get there and either I see other drivers standing with signs or I do not. I will let you know how it all works out.

One other thing I found I did not like was when you call them and you have your caller ID blocked, you have to unblock it (press *82 then the number) or the call will not go through. While I understand their need to reduce crank calls as well as garner information about the caller more promptly, it was an annoyance to call, get the message to unblock it and then redial.

(My concerns about finding the driver really were unimportant. I called their 888 number and they told me my driver was on level 1 in row A1. We took the elevator down and found Leonard very quickly. Rather then the town car we were expecting, he had a huge Excursion (think SUV on steroids). He had Lion King 1 ½ playing on the DVD player which was great for my son. We loaded up and headed out.

We made a short stop at a Super Target and headed to the hotel. My first experience with Happy Limo was quite happy. Leonard confirmed our pickup for Sunday morning and had me sign the slips for our various transfers. Despite a 25% gratuity already being charged to my card, I gave him another $5. I figured he probably worked at least 2 hours for us (waiting at airport, store stop, having to return to airport) and that $10 was not enough.

They were there ahead of schedule for out trip to port and got us there with plenty of time and without fast driving. Car was clean and driver was nice.

My son had an ear infection which was diagnosed just before we got off the ship and we were late getting off the ship and I called them to let them know. Leonard was our driver again and was patiently waiting to bring us back to HIFS.

Since my son had gotten sick and was under doctors orders not to fly for 48 hours I told him we woul dneed to cancel our trip to MCO scheduled for the next morning. He radioed in and took care of it.

They were very flexible in adjusting to changes in our flights and were ready and waiting to bring us to MCO.

If you read my long DCL vs. RCCL post you will find I am particular (some may call me a pain in the pants). I know and appreciate good service. I received it from Happy Limo. Their cars were clean, their drivers responsive and safe, they were on schedule and very accomodating.

I thought Happy Limo was terrific and would highly recommend them.

Was the Excursion black? I think they sent it for one of our trips, too, but I can't say for sure as I was in a total haze...our plane was supposed to land at midnight but didn't arrive till almost 2 a.m.! Needless to say, I was half asleep and only half noticed the really nice vehicle before I nodded off.

We have used Happy Limo for each of our trips. We have always received great service. On our last two trips Happy Limo upgraded our return vehicle free of charge (strech limo & Excursion). The drivers have always be curtious and prompt, and the cars clean.

I can't wait for March 20th. We have the Hummerzine taking us to the port for our DCL cruise. I will be taking lots of pictures and posting all about it when we get back.

Padre Disney, that would be great if you could post your thoughts on the Hummerzine!! We have a party of 16 going in December and I thought it would be fun for the kids to ride in one plus keep everyone together!! How far in advance did you reserve it?

Thanks and have a great trip!:Pinkbounc

Princess - I would book it now.

I am sure it is great and cheaper than DCL or Mears transfers

mojomanny, my parents had Leonard as their driver last trip. (we rented a car, but met Leonard with them at the hotel on both legs of the trip). He was very courteous and prompt, he was early both times. My parents were happy with his driving as well. They had a towncar, and it was very clean and nice.
Happy Limo *will* pick up in the baggage claim area if requested, I had Leonard meet them there since they are older, and had not been there before. I can't remember if it costs more--I think it might, since the drivers cannot leave their cars unattended in teh usual pickup spot. If I recall correctly, it may have cost a very small amount extra to pay for him to park the vehicle in a lot briefly--the main reason not to do this is time--if he meets you in baggage, he shows you were to go to meet the car, then has to walk out and get the car and drive it back to the pickup spot. If he meets you at the pickup spot to begin with, it will take less time. For my parent's situation, I decided having someone show them exactly where to go and helping with baggage was worth the extra time and $. Of course, they are not Disney crazy like we are, not wanting to waste a minute extra, LOL! (I think it only took about 15 minutes extra.)
