I'm just curious how many people out there recognize this obscure holiday.

Can't think of a better way to celebrate than heading to FW for the Archery Challenge and bonfire afterwards.

What is it??? Where is it celebrated? I am always up for a party!!

no party - it's the pyromaniacs holiday!!
bonfires late into the night...

i couldn't breathe last night the air was so thick where we live (in Israel) - even in the basement of my house, where my computer is, my eyes were stinging like crazy....

and get married, like my son did last night!!

Mazal Tov on the wedding!

I had my Bar Mitzvah on Lag Ba'omer in 1987. This is a day for celebrations, especially weddings.

If you don't know what it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag_Ba'omer

My kids' school had an outing today, where they had a Walk-a-thon in the park to raise finds for charity.

I have let my beard grow for the last 33+ days, and custom says that today I can shave without a problem. Question is whether I want to - I've grown to like my beard!

A local family has invited many to their home for a bonfire & BBQ. How they can do that without getting in trouble with local government is beyond me, but I'll go & have fun.

Ds6's class had a picnic today. I don't think they let the kindergartners use fireworks, but his eyelashes did look a bit singed when I picked him up... :scared1: Maybe I should ask the teachers...

(Still haven't shaved yet...)
