I have ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War (one got shot at Lexington/Concord, but survived), ones that fought in the Civil War, uncles who fought in WWII, Korea, my dad was a Vietnam vet. Coming from a rich history of supporting this country, I still don't feel it this year. We haven't learned from the past, IMO, and we're just going in circles. I tried to find something to celebrate, but I'm at a loss. I'm grateful for what I do have, as I'm not in any immediate danger (like in Ukraine) but there's this sense of dread hanging over the country for me. Might need to check in with my doctor to see if it's a medical issue? But I'm thinking it's not - I worry about my daughter and her wife in Texas, for example. Sigh.
