Happy Hour!!

Thanks for this important informantion, Robvia! I'm sure you spent precious vacation time going from watering hole to watering hole in your diligent study of happy hour prices! LOL! ;)

Seriously, thanks!
:D

Thanks, robvia!!. That's big news here on the happy hour thread.

I'm definitely going this weekend!!! (If I can get out of painting the living room)

We were at Nascar last year, and only the outside bar had happy hour. Did they do away with this? Davehaj

I wanted to bump this back up to the front. I'm taking a girl's long weekend trip in September and I'm hoping someone will update the 'happy hour' times when the official summer season ends. It was too difficult to do much happy hour participating when I took my 16 year old & his friend in July. I'm hoping for a more adult trip this go round. :teeth:

Thanks,
Carolyn

Carolyn,
Will do. I assume the times will go back to old times. I'm not sure when that will happen. See the first page of this thread. >>>

Well I got out of painting the living room (although I'm just postponed the inevitable). So we went to US this weekend. They're happy hour is 4-8 at all of the happy hour places. It was tough waiting to 4. I'm used to it starting at 2.

Also, they added some happy hour food. La Bamba had quesadia (sp?) and something else for $4.99. And Finnigans had nachos and some sort of potato onion loaf thing. I don't recall the prices. The nachos were ok and the potato loaf thing was greasy. They weren't great but they were cheap. We didn't try anything at La Bamba.

Anyway here's a recap:

Summer Update: July 31 2003
IOA: Happy Hour
Watering Hole (next to JPRA) and Alchemy bar (next to Deuling Dragons) 4-8pm
Backwater bar (next to Suess landing) 4-9:45pm

US:
La Bamba, Finnigans, Alcatraz 4-8

$4 Specialtiy drinks (3 frozen types)
1/2 off beer, wine, sangria
$2 to make a single shot drink a double, is good all the time.

...just curious if there was still any life in this thread.
(Retreived from the bowels of 4 pages ago, how'd ya'll let that happen?)

I may be going back in Mid September, at which time I'll give the non summer hours.
And of coarse, I'll have the HHN report in October.

We'll be there mid-September as well. We'll probably see you around one of the watering holes.

Rescued from page 3.

Official word from the bars themself.
Sept/Oct. Back to old hours. Except, the bars will stop happy hour when HHN starts. Let's review.

Backwater Bar (front of the park) 3pm - 7pm
The Watering Hole (Next to JPRA) - 2pm - 4pm
Alchemy Bar (next to Deuling Dragons) 3pm - 6pm

Nascar Cafe - Same draft specials
Domestic draft (2.50) Import draft (3.50) all the time.

Buffett Margaritas 2 for 1
Miller Light 2 for 1
Well Drinks 2 for 1
Above specials from 12:00pm to 4:59pm.

Ok, let's figure this out.
When HHN starts, that's when happy hour ends.
So the big idea is to be in the park at 2pm (watering hole) or 3pm (Alchemy bar) to slam a few drinks before HHN starts.

You can do it, just be aware that the happy hour ends when HHN starts.

Thanks for the update robvia. I haven't had a chance to to post lately.

By the way, assuming the summer happy hours are still in place, Alcatraz still starts earlier than Finnegans & La Bamba. This is not advertised. I was there over labor day and the park map only said 4-8 for happy hour. But, we were getting very thirsty around 3 so we went over the alcratraz and sure enough happy hour had started. So, I think alcatraz' hours have not changed. Typically the "watering hole" has the same hours as alcatraz. Can anyone confirm?

10/04. Definitely will check the Watering Hole out. Never been!

Appreciate the update!
Time to go double-check it now!!

NO beer drinker here but sure did appreciate the notice of margaritas at JB's place at 12:30 YIPPPEE guess where you'll find me at lunch time guys? Will down there sitting for lunch on saturday. Thanks for the great thread you guys really do get the important information.

Perhaps someone should copy & paste some of the info from Selina's thread into this one? Hmm...

How's this for Unhappy Hour!
HHN Drinks
(Drinks should be free if you "look" scared!)
Borrowed from IOA Central (if the link works... is that legal to link that?)

Should have a contest for who can guess the ingredients for the Feelin' Lucky Elixer!

HHN Update. Here's how it happened Sunday October 19th.

IOA closed at 05:30pm. I got into the park at about 04:30, and went to the Backwater Bar (next to Confiscos) and had a beer. Asked when he cuts off and he said when the park closes.

Continued to the Alchemy bar at the stay and scream area. Had another beer and asked the girl when she cuts off. She said at 06:00pm, which is when HHN started for people in the stay and scream area.

So what you wanna do if you're going to HHN, is enter the park, grab a beer at the Backwater, go on Dr. Doom because the wait is short as everyone else is leaving, head to Alchemy, and order another before 06:00pm. You can walk with your beer to the first house, and finish it before going in.

Take care of your bartenders in the afternoon and you'll probably get better service & longer Happy Hour later!

:D and always take your glasses back when ordering your next round saying how much you enjoyed the previous one!
