Awhile back there was a large thread going on the Happy Hour at the Theme Park watering holes anyone have any info them or the thread. Going to Universal in May would like to check these out.
Thanks Dan O.

HH in the parks isn't what it used to be. I think each bar has its own HH time. Mainly they are $1 off Bud or Bud Light Pints, and well drink specials.

We never go to HH in the parks any more. We hate Bud/Bud Lite so it's not worth it for us. NBA City has 1/2 price Miller Lite, Coors Lite, and Yeungling as well as daily specials on either Well Drinks or Margaritas. We go there now. One of these days I'll check out HH specials in the other bars of City Walk.

Have a fun trip.

Ah, my favorite subject!! I was the original poster of the "Happy Hour!!" thread. We could start a new thread with updated info. So, if anyone has any updates I can edit this post to keep it up to date.

Here are the hours as I know it:

IOA:
Watering hole: 3-5
Backwater Bar: 4-6
Alchemy Bar: 4-6

US:
Finnegans: 4-6
LaBamba: 4-6
Alcatraz: 3-5 (closed seasonally)

Times can vary depending on the season.

They all have $3.50 bud/bud light. I believe the regular price is about $5.25. AlexandNesssa some of the places now offer other specials. In particular, we were at Alchemy Bar last weekend and imports were $4.50 (Guiness, Bass, Yeungling, Sam Adams (this is an import??),...). So, give HH another chance.
Well drinks are also $4.50 (I think) at Alchemy and Backwater. Not sure about the others.

Tip: Buy a refillable mug and you get an extra 4oz for the same price. That's 24oz!!
Tip: Buy the refillable mug if you are thirsy before happy hour because you don't get happy hour prices when you first purchase it.

This thread is great!!! Already planning my boozing for Labor Day trip!:drinking1

I know that at least at the NASCAR, a child must be accompanied by his parents if he is to sit at the bar.

At Pat O'Brien's at City Walk it's 21 and over after 9 pm in the piano bar.

In all of my visits, I've never seen children sitting at the bar at the Hard Rock. In the restaurant, yes. At the bar, no.

I have seen kids sitting with their parents at Finnegans bar while there was a band.

Are kids allowed in the bars in Florida?
Just guessing here but...I would say yes...if the bar is/has a restaurant and is accompanied by an adult. If it's just a "bar", I would say no. Again...just guessing.

Re: the "in-park" bars, kids are allowed inside, just not allowed to sit at the actual bar. This is the rule all over the state, tho how often it is enforced varies; always at PI and Disney bars, often at Universal, less so at other touristy spots around town.

Some of the CityWalk venues are strictly 21+, or become so after 9 pm, but kids are (theoretically) never allowed to sit at the bar there, either.

Do you know if you need a coupon to get 1/2 off the price of the above drinks? Do you know what the hours are that they offer these drinks?

No coupons required. It's happy hour for everyone ... coupons or not. :)

Hours vary by bar in the parks. They are usually posted outside each bar.

I know at NBA City it's 4-7.

Not sure about the other bars in City Walk.

Somebody's gotta drive.... :rolleyes1

bwaaahahahahahahahahaaaaa

Seriously though, we always hit the bars at happy hour for fill ups, we don't stick around too long. In fact I think last year was the first time we got our drinks at the backwater bar and sat on the patio.

Back on our 2004 US vac we went into Pat o' Brians around 9pm withour kids DD14 and DS11. We sat down at a table just too hear the duel pianos and were asked to leave.

We are going to IOA this weekend and will check up on the HH times and maybe add some details. Mind you we will be hitting HH for informational purposes only :drinking1 . - Keep posted ....

We'll be there a week from Fri on 5/2 checking out the happy hours. Looking forward to raising a few glasses!!!

I updated my summary on the first page. I just added this line:

Well drinks are also $4.50 (I think) at Alchemy and Backwater. Not sure about the others.
