Happy Easter! What Are Your Plans Today?

I doubt anybody here has an Easter Monday tradition since the day isn’t recognized as a holiday. Easter’s over - back to work we go! And as for retail, it does vary some from region to region but where I am, nothing closed for Good Friday or Easter Sunday - some places had holiday hours but mostly just business as usual.

Here in Ontario The government people get Easter Monday off today. No mail or services open today. Everything else is.

A pivot seems in order and I hope your son will recover fully and quickly. One thing about being our age is that we've had a lot of practice at "rolling with it" when unexpected wrenches are thrown. Enjoy your day and do let us know how the medical situation turns out.

Dan, I hope your son recovers quickly and it’s nothing serious. Do they have any idea what is causing the pain? Thinking good thoughts for him and all of you.

Well, Vince was discharged late yesterday, was home to sleep in his own bed last night. While in-patient for 2 days, he had X-rays, CT scans, various heart diagnostic tests (to rule out cardiac causes as pain was higher up in his abdomen), and all the other stuff that goes along with a hospital stay. He did get an Ambien sleeping aid Saturday night. He also had several does of morphine during his stay to relieve his pain.

Diagnosis is, suspected intestinal blockage. The doctor and the surgeon said the most frequent cause is post digestive track surgery, sometimes occurring years after a prior surgery. However, Vince has never had a surgery like that. They did say that if there is a recurrence in the next month, exploratory surgery would be in order and recommended. He is feeling relatively okay now. He did not do his 24 hour shift today, will play by ear for his 24 hour on Thursday.
