The high school kids at Nordonia are going to be celebrating today because their principal just happens to be Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel's dad. Although Mike attended Walsh Jesuit High School, there were a lot of kids from Nordonia cheering for #50 during the Superbowl game yesterday. His performance was outstanding. I am generally disinterested about sports, but I did sit down with our church's youth group and watch the game yesterday. Anytime that #50 showed up on the screen or, more importantly, made a great play, the kids were screaming and cheering. It made the game a lot more fun to watch.
One other highlight of the game was, of course, the commercials. It turns out that my wife's boss Helen has a brother who directed the Budweister commercial with the donkey who wanted to be a Clydesdale. I had heard about that commercial over a week ago and was looking forward to seeing the finished results.
All in all it was an enjoyable evening spent with family and our church youth group.
