Happy Dance! I found a bunch of money!!!

(And don't get mad already, assuming that it's not mine and I'm not going to give it back!)

I found a paycheck in a cargo pocket of some of my pants the other day. I just got around to piecing it back together to see if it was really the check or just the stub, and what date it was. Well, after an hour of that and reconciling all my paystubs, bank statements, and My Money program... the verdict is in. I really never did deposit it!

Now, of course I could have paid this to my credit cards 6 months ago and saved $100 in interest, but it's still making me oh-so-happy. And of course it will probably take a month to get my company's headquarters to send me a new one, but hey! I think I might go purchase that ticket to Paris that I keep talking about!



Have you ever done anything so stupid? I can't get over the fact that I would have never realized it if I hadn't found it. It's from right after I moved here and was getting paychecks from two separate jobs, so it was easy for me not to notice. But still, as anal as I am with my financial records...!!!

That's the reason I opted for direct-deposit on my paychecks -- this sounds like something I'd do all too easily! LOL!

I had done that once. I had a $1700.00 paycheck get washed one time it really made me sad

Disnee Dad Says.................................That's not stupid. Stupid is losing the check, never finding out or figureing it out.
That happened to me many years ago. The only reason I found out is after a year the company sent me another check saying check xxxxx was never deposited!
Now I have a computer, I'm sure I would figure it out in 10 months or less now!!!

That's a great feeling isn't it? Glad you found it! And yes, I have done that before myself... fortunately with direct deposit I don't have to worry about it anymore

I'm really bad about leaving $20 bills in the pockets of my winter coats and blue jeans. Every September or October I'm always finding a "minor windfall."

Yes, I do have direct deposit now. So that won't happen again... until I change jobs.

I had an excess funds check from college that the school issued me...it was only like $50 or something but apparently I stuck it in one of my folders and forgot all about it. It was almost a year later when I finally did fiind it and was able to cash it.
