Gone Ho Fat Choy.....not sure if that is how you spell it or not, but that is the way it sounds when my 6 year old says it. Translated it is Happy New Year in Chinese....he learned it in school yesterday.

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! This will be the ever first new year I celebrated without my parents..... becaues I moved out with my new Hubby!! So this will be my first ever new year with my new family.

Your spelling is very very close. In Cantonese, it would be "Gong Hei Fat Choy." In Mandarin, it would be "Gong Xi Fa Tsai." Both mean exactly the same thing "Congratulations for the New Year and Wish you make lots of money in the future."
