Kidding about the "sour cream" crack.
I tell you, there is nothing like a good gift to make a 24 period bliss. My 4 year old son got a "Lightning McQueen Pit Crew" set on the first night of Chanukah. The next morning, I slept until 9am because instead of coming into my room at 6:30, he went down to "work on his car" for 4 hours. It's a Chanukah Miracle!
I'm a pure potato guy, but onions sound good!
My mother-in-law is in charge of making latkes. Whatever she does, I concur. Those are darn tasty.
We do homemade applesauce because the kids have a blast with it.
First night, my kids' maternal grandparents were on for the gifts. Last night, it was the paternal grandparents. Tonight is our "annual cousins' Chanukah party," so the gifts will come from them. We as parents aren't on for gifts until night #4. (We also use one night as a "night of charity gifts" were we forgo gifts and give charity instead.)
We worked the gift schedule right this year!
Enjoy night #3 tonight!
