Your holiday lands on a Sunday do you get an extra day off? Lots of people took tomorrow off to have a four day weekend here. Enjoy your holiday too.

All the government offices, banks, most offices will be closed Monday. So a 3 day weekend for most. Stores will be open, of course.

With Canada Day today & our holiday Sunday, the bridges into Canada are really backed up here today. Buffalo & Fort Erie, Ontario have a "Friendship Festival" every year, so people celebrate together. It's a great tradition.

Thank you from the Canadian representative from the Prairies. Most of the city spent the day indoors because the air outside is so thick with humidity you could swim in it.

Because of medical conditions I try to avoid heat and humidity as much as possible but I did sit outside for a minute because it reminded me of Florida

Kimblebee-- your weather is coming our way on the weekend so the weatherman has been telling us. We had sweaters on for the last three nights. Very breezy but warm when your in the sun. Tuesday night got down to 8 . Nice sleeping weather.

thank you! we had a beautiful day on the east coast...even helped bring back my disney tan!

we had a busy day, dh is military and his unit does the 21 gun salute on citadel hill, an historic fortress built way back when the city was first settled, or shortly thereafter. so i dragged the kids to the tattoo parade, off to the public gardens(oldest victorian garden in canada), then i pushed, yes pushed my three and 4 yr old up that hill! oy! watched daddy do the salute then went for a picnic on the commons for the great canadian family picnic.

daddy finally joined us after the guns were cleaned. i even got a thank you as a military spouse from a complete stranger, it felt wonderful! we all know the sacrifices our soldiers make, but often the families are overlooked. i nearly cried.

Cow ice cream on the Habourfront yummy. You must have got a good workout pushing up that hill. We almost killed my mom walking up from the habourfront up the hill to the Citedel .

you cant beat cows! altho ben and jerrys is a close second! i nearly died! lol we had to do the bathroom thing in the gardens, thankfully nice new ones are there now, he texts me at 1136- where are you?- i made it to the top in 14 minutes. i was quite impressed! lol not that i wasnt covered in sweat and making my little guy hand me the water every two minutes! lol

thank you and i will pass your thanks along to him. he literally just returned from a two week training at base borden. it is way too sad. he lost a close friend and co- worker at the end of last year, he doesnt let on, but it hurt him so much. not the first and sadly will not be the last im sure. i dont think i could live that close to the highway, i love the idea and think its wonderful, but so sad to see all those motorcades. dh had to help unload his friend here when they landed in halifax late at nite in january and send him on his way home to yarmouth. i can't even imagine that. it really is so so sad.
