I had a lovely day, thank you all

Spent the day pottering about with a spot of shopping and a leisurely lunch, then went out for a very nice meal with some friends in the evening, and am now looking forward to my 'big' present - a trip to Venice this weekend!!!!!!!!! It was a complete surprise which DH and DDs had been hatching for months and managed to keep a surprise right until I opened the the ticket wallet.

Much as I love all the planning that goes into our Florida trips, one of the most exciting things about this trip is that all I have to do is pack and get in the car on Saturday morning!

I had some other great goodies too including a book of Hidden Mickeys and a travel tips book from DDs, and a sewing machine from my mum My old sewing machine had been an 18th birthday present from mum and dad and was definitely leaning towards antique status Mum felt a new one for my 50th was quite appropriate

Happy Birthday, Hilary. You were missed at the South West DIS meet on Saturday - we were commenting that it was the first you'd missed and speculating on the number to attribute to your 'special' birthday. We were all convinced that it must be 40 as it couldn't possibly be 50! Now, isn't that better than a surprise trip to Venice?
