Thanks for the good wishes everyone, Jamie was really pleased with them. 
I took him and 3 friends to see Ice Age 2, (I didn't want to cramp their style, so having seen them safely into the Cinema, I went to visit my sister instead) the film by all accounts is very good and then I treated them to Pizza Hut, a good day but my brain is completely addled - 12 year old boys have a strange sense of humour.
