Today Disneyland turns 54 years old!!

Is anyone planning on going to the parks today? Are you going to do anything special because it's Disneyland's birthday?

My daughter is starting a 3-day Disneyland Invasion with her friends where they plan on going to every attraction and see every show and parade.

I might go this afternoon just for the heck of it just because it's Disneyland's birthday.

Anyone else?

What a kewl post!
I wouldn't have even know. Thank You, MaryJo for sharing this.

HaPpY Birthday, DisneyLand!
Thanks for all the special memories our family has made on your grounds.
Thanks for the many delicious treats we look forward to each visit.
Thanks for the good hearted crew that You employ who make our trips so special.
Thanks for the fireworks that take our breath away.
Thanks for the music that always makes my eyes tear up when it touches first my ears then my heart.
Thanks for being a place where people of all nationalities can come together and share the unity of happiness.
Happy Birthday, Disneyland!

So how will Disneyland celebrate? Will it get a free parkhopper so it can go to CA???? A Fun Card or fastpasses?? Inquiring minds want to know! -- Suzanne

The National Fantasy Fan Club (NFFC) is having its 25th Annual Convention this week. Today is an "off day" from the convention and there will be over 200 of us (in NFFC T-shirts) for a Group Photo in front of the Casle at 10:00 and then running around the Pafk all day. We will help people celbrate!

I will be running around on a (Figment) Purple and Orange ECV with Cheshire Cat decals on the side.

For anyone who will be there today wave to the castle for me! :mickeyjum I'm still in shock that I chose Comic Con over Disneyland this year  but DH indulges my Disney obsession so often that it is only fair we do something for him from time to time.

Not going today but will tomorrow or sunday. I will def be there next year though! Bigger birthday next year :)

My DH and I will be there tonight. We will be celebrating by heading over there after work and catching Fantasmic! (It's my favorite!) Hopefully they'll have the new dragon for tonight's show, but I doubt it. :sad2: Doesn't matter. It will still be awesome! VERY EXCITED! :woohoo:

Is every Birthday at the parks crazy busy? I saw photo's from the 50th Anniversary and it was nuts! Didn't know if it's that way every time or it was that way do it being more special. I assume the 55th next year will be packed as well.

:bday:

I will try to go tonight or for sure make time this weekend. Now I'm craving a Dole whip. :earsgirl:

OOO!! I bet they're gonna do something fun today! I hope when people get back, they post pictures of today! I'd so love to see some Disney Birthday Magic :)

I posted this on the other thread... But Happy Birthday my lovely Disneyland!!

Marty Sklar's retirement is official as of today. They are dedicating his window on Main Street today. What an amazing career.

I was there last year on the date of DL's "birthday" and it didn't seem any busier than a regular summer day at the Park.

Wish I could be there today! Oh well, I'll be there in around 3 weeks. :wizard:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Disneyland...the happiest place on earth! Cake anyone?:cake: The last time I was there for the birthday was on the 50th. What a memory!!!

DS and I made an impromptu stop at DL today. We had some time to kill before DS's appointment in Orange so we were there for about an hour and a half. It seemed really busy to me but still managable. I'm not sure if it was busy because it's Friday and it's summer or if it was busier because of DL's b-day. :confused3 It was also very hot and it seemed humid too (not WDW humid but humid for DLR). We road the horse-drawn street car back down main street before we left and the driver said something about a ceremony they were doing later.

I went for a couple of hours after work. It was in the 90's there (in the 80's where I live), and that was around 5pm. I took some pics, bought a little t-shirt for my cousin, and came home. The cast members had buttons that said Happy 54th birthday. I wish I had known about the dedication ceremony. I would have liked to have seen it.
