I'd just like to take a moment and wish all my fellow Canucks a super happy Canada Day!!

We have our issues no doubt but boy are we lucky to live in this great nation. Something I try hard not to take for granted.

I walk around those Disney parks with a Canada flag patch planted firmly on my park bag. Yep, I'm an unapologetic proud Canadian!

I always remember the words I herd Jean Chretien say one time when I was on parliament Hill as kid for Canada Day. We made a few family trips east and ended up in Ottawa for Canada Day. One Year he said "Today we party and wave the flag and tomorrow we go back to being Canadian." That same trip in a restaurant the next day a waitress was telling us how a family of Americans had commented that they didn't know Canadians could party like that.

They were probably picturing us moping around counting down the 90+ days until hockey season started again. :D

Poutine donut sounds kinda odd to be honest. But I guess you've got the sweet and savoury together.

Maple Bacon Iced Capp? Is Tim Horton's playing a practical joke on it's American customers?

If you don't get the Canadian Tire flyer OR didn't look closely at it you might be interested to know that they are giving out limited edition 10 cent CDN Tire money. No purchase needed, 1 per customer. We went in this morning not expecting them to have any left and they had SCADS! Look like the $50.00 bill

Hope everyone had a great Canada Day! We went to the annual Firemans pancake breakfast, then had friends over for an afternoon BBQ, and in the evening a friend and I went to the local park for the free Trooper concert!

We had a very quiet day. Our daughter & her wife came over after lunch and we played a board game while they tweaked plans for their road trip out east. After they left for the uber traditional Canadian meal of Sushi with a friend :rotfl2: we went for a walk, stopped at a restaurant for dessert & thick milkshakes (advantage to having no kids -- i want just dessert? FINE!) About 15 minutes before the fireworks started we drove up the highway, parked on the side of the road and watched with the other 100 or so who didn't want to fight the crowds! :rolleyes1
