Happy Back To School Day

I've only got one left and he's off for a day of purchasing textbooks, correcting timetable issues. Shall we all go off for a "virtual" breakfast celebration once our kiddos are back at school for the year.

It's the best day! Kids off to those before school program. One was happy to go back, one not so much.

For the first time in 23 years I am not doing back to school today. It feels really strange. We moved our youngest to university on Saturday but she came back home because classes don't start until Thursday.

I am in the same boat, moved both kids in over the course of 3 days and got the youngest settled in. I work contractually so I made sure to be off for the next few days just in case there were any hiccups but so far so good! It is weird to not have to be worrying about lunches, snacks etc but at the same time my son was sooo ready to get going off to university it made it a little easier to handle. Hope everyone has a great day!

Sent my youngest off to first day of 8th grade, and my oldest will go back up to university for her 3rd year tomorrow.

It's a lonely kind of feeling this year. Especially since we just spent 10 days straight in Florida together. Just have to get back into routine I guess. :)

Yes, happy back to school day!! :)

My youngest started Grade 8 today and eldest is back in high school. I know my daughter was very happy school has started up again, and think my son is as well although he won't admit it.

Three friends and I met up for breakfast right after school started so that was very nice. Now I'm back home and I can't believe how quiet it is for the first time in weeks. Five hours of peaceful quiet! Bliss. I won't get to enjoy that again until Monday.

Tomorrow my Dad is having vocal cord surgery (removing a lump) so I'll be with him for the next two days. He won't be allowed to talk for 3 days. Then only a few minutes every hour for the next 2-3 weeks.

My baby started grade 3 today. He has a very strict teacher (makes mommy happy but kiddo not so much lol) and a few kids in his class he gets along with. Thankfully the boy he does not get along with is not in his class. Hopefully the day goes well. He was very sad to go back to school, especially since we just got back from Disney (he asked if we could live there lol).

DS starts grade 7 today! Granted, it's only 2 hours today but at least it is stating. He had a rough grade 6 so he is not looking forward to going back, add that to the fact that his best friend moved to Nova Scotia a few weeks ago and I have a sad kid on my hands.

Grades 4 and 7. I would like them to stop now. Time goes too fast.

Mine were both excited to go back. My youngest wouldn't admit it, but he was ready half an hour early and practically bouncing. Oldest has been ready to go back since early July. :)

Homeschoolers here! We started back today. Twins are eight on Sunday, my eldest daughter is 13. Big change in routine today.

Sent my youngest to start high school today  The older son is still recovering from his surgery and hopefully will be back to school next week. And they oldest...well she has been out of high school for a few years now. There is a 7 yr gap between the oldest and the middle child. It was already weird not really taking the youngest to school. I did drop him off this morning as we are unsure of the bus route yet this year. But he knew where he was going to start his day...so momma didn't have to take anyone into their school.

I hope the reports that come back at the end of day 1 are all good. My DS is still waiting for the college to upload textbooks so he can in turn download them. I did drive him to the college today (its the kind of Mom I am) but I made him take the bus home. He's off to a part-time job interview this afternoon so we'll see how the rest of his day goes.

This is the first September since 1991 that I don't have anyone related to me starting back to some level of schooling. Our D-I-L graduated with her Masters in Public Health in June and our daughter just about throttled her when she mentioned in passing "maybe i'll work towards my PhD next?"

This time of year always feels more like New Year than January and this year just feels slightly "empty" Hubby's website is still not functional so even his classes aren't running because it's rather hard for people to know about them and register if they can't FIND THEM!

OMG, the whining and complaining and crying and justifying required this morning.

It is getting very tiresome being married to a teacher and having to send her back every fall...

Lol! I hear ya!

After 33 years in the classroom, I've been retired for 5 years now...but DW is back in her classroom as I type this. All us retired folks have an annual breakfast on the first day of school. It's our "To H*** With the Bell" annual breakfast.

Happy Back To School to everyone here, though!

DD8 started grade 3 today for 1.5 hrs. :cheer2:She was back in her old classroom for today and get her new teacher tomorrow. Full day tomorrow!:worship:

Our only little guy started kindergarden today! I think he already has a bigger social circle than I do : )
