Its one year ago today that we took our puppy, Max, home. He was 7 weeks old then and weighed 11 pounds; now he weighs 85 pounds. Thats a whole lotta puppy!
Anyway, when we got him, I was just hoping that I wouldnt hate him and having a dog (and that he wouldnt make a mess of my house). But guess what? I love this crazy dog! Hes like my baby.
Hes mostly Labrador retriever, with some Rottweiler thrown in to make him a good guard dog. Because hes a mutt, were hoping he stays as healthy as he has been so far. I think the biggest danger we face with him is the objects he eats. Sometimes I swear hes part piranhahell chew up and swallow just about anything.
Yesterday, I made a special anniversary dinner to celebrate. I made a prime rib (hopefully not from a mad cow) because he loves prime rib bones. Dont worrywe take them away when hes done stripping the meat. The look on his face when I gave him one last night was priceless! I never saw a happier dog.
So, happy anniversary, to my puppy! Love you, Maxidog!
