Happy Administrative Professionals Day

This day is like Valentine's Day. It makes some people feel great and it makes some people feel like crap. It would be easier just to not have it. Oh and I am not an admin and I don't have any admin staff, so this is just an observation from the outside.

Our old boss used to take us to lunch then he stopped about 5 years ago. One year my DH sent me flowers with a card that said that he wanted me to know that someone appreciates me. It was so sweet.

This year there is a new boss and not one thing was mentioned. Believe me nothing will be mentioned on bosses day either!

Well, to borrow a phrase I saw in another post, crap on a cracker! I had no idea it was today until this thread. I've been slightly distracted.

Now what should I do? Should I ignore it, or should I say something? Or bring something for them tomorrow?

I'm a bad person.

I forgot that it was today until the pastors came in singing to me!! Had me cracking up.....I got a pair of scissors and a cheesy statue....but hey they remembered!! Last year my volunteers got me a plant in celebration....and it's still alive much to everyone's amazement!!

I've got more than a dozen people that report to me...I can't afford flowers for all of them!

I'll bring donuts in tomorrow and send a self-deprecating email castigating myself for forgetting.

wooohooo I was already happy with the flowers and lunches....to top it all off..we just received a bag of Crabtree and Evelyn lotions with the cutest bag.

I got a nice basket filled with snack foods and chocolate from my direct report bosses. From the others that I support, I got a nice basket with lotions and a candle.

I work in a medical office and we have never received anything before, so we were really surprised this afternoon when we all received flowers.
