Saw this in our local paper that Pooh turns 80 today. Thought I would share some of the story with all of you.
Pooh and friends were the creation of A.A. Milne, whose 1st Pooh story appeared in the London Evening News on Christmas Eve 1925. Milne wrote the stories for his son, Christopher Robin Milne, who appeared in the books as Pooh's best friend.
Disney earsna a lof from Pooh, grossing more than $3 billion a year. Pooh outsells Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Pluto combined.
Pooh got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 11. It was the 2,308th star and it's at 6834 Hollywood Blvd. Tigger, Eeyore and Rabbit were on hand to celebrate.
