Happy 21st Birthday! WDW, DCL and a Dis meet! *TR COMPLETE*

Have any of you taken the Keys to the Kingdom tour? I wanted to take it before and actually had it booked but ended up not going due to a post poned trip. I'm thinking of doing it on my last day for the earliest tour. I will have plenty of time since I'm planning on getting the last flight out of Orlando to my home city.

So my question...Have you been on the Keys to the Kingdom tour and what did you think about it?

Thanks!!

I've actually done the tour twice and it's a pretty interesting tour. If you know the history of the MK, then you won't really learn anything you don't already know. You do get to go backstage a little bit and they take you down in the tunnels in one small area. They don't let you do too much exploring. ;) You can also see the parade floats in the back during the tour. You'll have lunch with your group at the Harbor House, so that's what makes the tour a little longer than usual. Plus, you get a cool key keepsake pin. :thumbsup2 It's probably one of the best tours, if not the best. It's worth it if you are a MK fanatic. :wizard:

Thanks for your review Lindsey! I'm thinking the tour would be a great wrap up to my vacation. I would love to see the utilidoors even if it's just for a few minutes.

I'm glad you liked Ratatouille, I'm hoping to get it this weekend. Shoppers has a special on where if I use some points I can get it for $10. That's a good price here.

I'm so jealous that you've been to France! What a traveller you are! It's always been a dream of mine to go to France... maybe one day, I am a French teacher after all! :rotfl:

Hope you got Ratatouille this weekend for the cheap price. I'm such a bargan shopper so $10 is always a good deal.

Thats so cool that you are a French teacher. I took it for 4 years and I wish I did more.

France was amazing! That was actually a dream of mine to go to Paris at some point in my life too. My friend from work is from France (she has only been here 6 years) and I was always asking her what it was like and her stories from back home. (I took French in middle and high school and loved it but nothing can compare to a story from a real Parisian). Anyway so one day she was telling me a story about how she lived in Paris and I was telling her how I've always dreamed of going there etc *like I always did every time*. She shocked me this time by just saying "were gonna go". I kind of brushed it off like "yea right". Well she went home that night after work and had her husband looking up prices (hes from France too) for flights and hotels and before we knew it a trip was booked for us two and another friend from work.

We went in May and it was an amazing experience, one I will never forget. I truly owe her for taking us on that trip and leaving her family for those days for us to go. She gave up her mothers day with her kids to spend it with us in France and I got to spend my 20th birthday over there. We went for 6 days and did a ton in that amount of time. No sleeping for us!

If you ever get the chance to go, do it! It was beautiful and she already wants to take us back to Paris and maybe Italy. The three of us had a ball on our girls trip.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Alright so with all this talk of Ratatouille and France I've decided to post some pictures from my trip to Paris 6 months ago.

Two friends and myself went to Paris May 9-14. (If you want to read how the trip came about check out my last post) It is an amazingly beautiful city, everything I thought it would be.

We landed in Paris at 6am from a long flight from Boston MA. We didn't sleep a wink on the plane or at all the day we got to Paris. Lets just say thats the longest I have ever been up without sleep in my whole life!

Napoleon's tomb

Of course the Eiffle tower

We hiked the stairs to the second level. Mind you we had just arrived in Paris with no sleep...man that was a long hike up. (We actually never made it up to the very top that day so we knew we would have to go back)

View from the first level. Our hotel was by that really tall building (Montparnasse). We were about 5 blocks away.

After climbing back down the tower we went over to the Seine and took a Batteau Mouche river cruise seeing all the landmarks by boat.

The best way to see Paris on a short time limit is to use these open air double deckers. They go all over to the different areas of Paris and run all day into the early night. You can get on and off as you please. We had a great time on these busses. There was one time where it started to rain and everyone ended up going down below to where its covered. Not the 3 of us we just got the umbrellas out and kept taking pictures of the city we had the whole top of the bus to ourselves! The people watching the bus go by must of thought we were crazy.

This place had the BEST Hot chocolate I have ever had! It was so thick and creamy...I will have to dig my picture out so you can see.

The three of us crazy girls!

The Louvre was Beautiful and my favorite thing we got to see. The museum's close so early so we didn't have too much time to explore. It's huge anyway so you would need at least 2 or 3 days to see it all. The museum guard said that only 1/3 of the museum collection is on display and the rest is in holding because there isnt enough room to display.

We climbed the stairs to the top and had an amazing view of Paris. Our guide also showed us where the Hunchback was said to have lived.

We spent my birthday night climbing stairs up to Monmontre where Van Gogh and other artists use to live. It was so cool to see the artists up there now. I actually bought a painting of Paris from one of them.

Sacré-Coeur (Sacred Heart Basilica) is also up there and it was beautiful to see at night.

We of course had to go down and shop on the Champs-Elysees, the most beautiful boulevard in the world.

At the end of the boulevard there is the Arc de Triomphe.

I wish we would of had time to climb to the top but we decided to do some shopping. ;)

And look what store was on the beautiful boulevard...

There was louis vuitton, mercades and of course DISNEY! Love it!

Our last day came pretty fast and we knew we had to go back to the Eiffle tower. We decided this time to take the elevator up.
47b7cf30b3127ccebff9c3ed776a00000026100BaMWzNuzcMS

(Man this sign wasnt lying...the wind was so strong at the top and it was freezing. Good thing we had our jackets.)

This is a zoomed in picture of the Arc de Triomphe from the top.

The view was beautiful and we made it in time before sunset.
47b7cf30b3127ccebff9c3daf66d00000026100BaMWzNuzcMS

I couldn't believe how amazing our trip was and this was such a perfect ending to the trip. The beautiful sunset over all of Paris. *Mind you that this sunset is at like 9:30pm* The sun stays out late over there in the spring. That really screwed us up with the time difference then not having the sun go down at a normal time.

Anyway we made it back down to the ground right at 10 and the tower started to twinkle. We ran (and I mean ran) far enough away where we could look and enjoy the lights. They only go off for a short period of time on the hour every hour after sunset.

Like I said the trip was amazing and it was everything I hoped it would be. I hope some day soon to go back and maybe even go to Euro Disney. My friend is already talking of another trip so who knows! Hope you all enjoyed the pictures!!!

Ok... I could be wrong, but wasn't that a little rat in the background just DYING to cook dinner for you???? ;)

Great Pics!!!

Those pictures are amazing!
I love the pictures of the Disney Store and then I saw the ad for Disneyland Paris on the bus. ;)
Everything is so beautiful! :goodvibes

DH & I actually decided, pretty much after you & I did so much talking about your Paris trip, that our next big trip will be to Paris! :yay:
I can't wait! We are starting to save up now, so hopefully we will be there within the next two years. Hopefully, sooner than later.

Thanks Cheryl for sharing your Paris trips too! What a beautiful city and an amazing experience for you. Your amie is very special to take you and your other friend to France with her. How sweet! :cutie: One day I know I will get there, it will just take a while, because I've been wanting Disney trips so much! Of course, there is Disneyland Paris! :woohoo:

I didn't get Ratatouille for $10 because that offer was over, but I did get it at Future Shop for $20. Not too bad, other places had it advertised for between $24-$28 here.

Wonderful Paris pictures. I can't wait to visit someday. Did you notice the Disney ad on the bus?

Thanks! Yup I saw it. Thats where the stairs were to go down to the first level and they were on every bus. Thats as close as I got to Euro Disney. :rotfl:

Thanks Lindsey! Paris is so amazing, nothing here in the states even compares. Theres so much history and I must say the shopping is AMAZING.

There are ads for Disney all over the place and I was bummed that we were so close and didn't go. But we did a TON of stuff in our short time (even more than I showed you.) So it gives me a reason to go back ;)

Thats so exciting that you guys are going to go! Let me know and I will give you some touring tips because everything is totally different over there.

She is so amazing, I don't think I could ever thank her enough.

I know what you mean about the Disney trips. I'm the same way, before I go on one I'm already planning another. :rolleyes1 It's an addiction...I swear.

Bummer you didn't get Ratatouille for $10 but $20 still isnt bad!!

wow AWESOME pictures! I want to go there someday, how lucky you are to have been!! It's so beautiful, and I love the pictures from the top of the Eiffel Tower, amaaazing.

Thanks girl! Paris is an AMAZING city more than I could of imagined.

The Eiffel tower was awesome, I still can't believe I was there. My friend Tara (one of the girls I went with.) Were just talking today saying it's been 6 months today since we were there. Her and I will talk about the trip a lot because its still mind boggleing to us that we were actually there.

Wohoo! 6 months from today I will be at the Magic Kingdom and gearing up for the Disney wonder the next day! :woohoo: :cool1:

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! My grandparents came up and we had a nice quiet family dinner.

After dinner we always put up our Christmas tree. One of our many family traditions.

This is my brother being crazy while putting garland on the tree.

Of course the first decoration is Disney!

So it's really begining to feel a lot like Chirstmas!

In other news my 180 day mark till my trip came and went. I called and made a reservation for Kona the night before the cruise but no other reservations. I'm still up in the air if I want to just do the CS.

Oh and the night before the cruise I also decided to see the show La Nouba. I saw it in October and it was fantastic! I will head to the Magic Kingdom during the day then over to Downtown Disney for the show later.

Can't believe how fast the time is flying. May will be here before I know it! :woohoo:

Oh I've been dying to go on a Disney cruise forever! I can't wait to hear about your trip! Glad you picked Kona... that's what we're doing on our first night when we get there (6 days! AHH!) and i've heard only great things about it.

It sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! :goodvibes

The decorations look great!
I just finished decorating a couple days ago.
I'll have to take some pictures soon.
Jax has already been trying to climb the Christmas tree and he has pulled the garland down. :rotfl:

That's great that you are going to go see La Nouba again! :thumbsup2
