Today, June 1, 2017, is the 20th anniversary of this site. Pete started it way back when just to have a place to share some vacation photos with family and look what it has become. The DIS community has turned into such a huge part of my life and my family's lives. Even as I type this post, we are sitting in our room at Pop Century on a trip we took solely to attend tonight's 20th anniversary part. We've been to many DIS meets from Boston to Virginia, the MegaMeet, a Podcast cruise, and now this. Both my wife and I have even been on the podcast several times.
Most importantly, though, is the people we have met and friendships we have made. We have so, so many friends in our lives today who we never would have known if not for the connection to the DIS. I chat with DIS friends here and on Facebook every single day. We get together with DIS friends socially. We've traveled out of town just to meet online DIS friends in person. And, of course, we've helped the DIS raise half a million dollars for Give Kids The World. Speaking of GKTW, we have volunteered at the village several times which also never would have happened if not for the DIS.
So thank you Pete, John, Kevin, Kathy, Teresa, Corey, Julie, Craig, Ryno, Steve, Jackie, Charles, Dustin, Shaun, Oliver, JeniLynn, Bob, and anyone else who I'm forgetting (my apologies if I did) who has been a part of this journey and made this all the amazing place it is. Also the Disneyland team, Tracey, and everyone else.
