I will be going to Disney in 12 days with my wife and 2 year-old son. My wife and I haven't been there since we were kids and we are very excited! I was curious to hear recommendation's for good spots to watch Once Upon a Time and Happily Ever After fireworks. Our son is very much like a 2-year old who doesn't like to stop and just wait around too long. So I don't know about camping out the best spot for an hour lol. Let me know what you guys think!

You will either need to camp out or get a dessert party you can sometimes get there 10 to 15 minutes early and get a good spot but sometimes you can not @Robo has a very good map of where you will want to be to see it.

The best spot to watch is right next to the plaza garden on Main Street. I lined up about 30-45 mins before and got great seating. It was the day after Christmas (busy) so you may not have to line up that far in advance for your trip dates.

I recommend not getting the fireworks party. In my opinion it is not worth the cost for the view and desserts you're getting. My view on Main Street was better than the view I had for the dessert party.

Enjoy your trip!

Honestly, if I were you, I would look into the plaza garden view dessert party. Your son will be free, and he can have some treats, cheese, and/or grapes (last I checked). And if you're down in the plaza viewing there is plenty of room for him to wander before the show begins (and even potentially during).

If that doesn't interest you, for the best view of the castle projections and a straight on view of the fireworks, you will need to be in the hub or on Main Street USA. It will be crazy, but I've seen people walk up right before it started and get a decent view.

For the first viewing, you really want a good spot with as clear/unobstructed view of the front of the castle as possible. It's worth staking out a spot an hour early IMO. For your first viewing anyway.

It's a great show and worth it. I haven't done a desert party since the bigger price increases and while I was on the fence with doing another at older price points, I wouldn't even consider doing them under the higher prices. It's simply not worth it and you have to show up early anyway.

Buy a few of your favorite snacks for the family and for $20-25 and the same amount of time waiting you can have as good of a view and save yourself a ton of money. Albeit without some of 'deserts' and if you have picky desert eaters, the parties aren't for you.

Enjoy the show, I miss Wishes but having seen HEA around 10 times, it grows on you. After the fireworks you can stay put or move up for a better view of OUAT.

One suggestion is getting a spot around the hub (will need to camp a little). We found a spot where the sidewalk met the "road" and there was a trash can. We plopped DS on that and the space or road in front is typically kept clear (a bit) for walking. DH and DS and DD stayed there while I went and grabbed nachos and we ate while waiting, making it easier for the kids to wait.
