Happily Ever After ending permanently Sept 29

We also recently announced that all-new nighttime spectaculars ā€œDisney Enchantmentā€ and ā€œHarmoniousā€ would be debuting October 1 as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration. That means this summer is also your last chance to come out and catch the current fireworks shows before they sparkle into Disney history. ā€œEPCOT Foreverā€ will conclude its limited-time run on September 28, and you have until September 29 to take in the spectacle of ā€œHappily Ever Afterā€ at Magic Kingdom Park.

That is surprising. considering how long the previous shows ran.
Maybe they are planning to use pieces of HEA and the 50th to put together a new one?

Happily Ever After has one massive flaw, you have to be in the hub to see it properly. The crowds are just too much.
I think Disney is trying to spread the crowds with a different approach to MK fireworks, hopefully they will make it so you need to be in different areas to see different effects. I think they are doing projections down main street?
I'm pro-spread the crowds.

Great show. I really hope this isn't an excuse to butcher the fireworks and make them have less during the show to save even more money.. It won't shock me, but it will hurt me dearly

Not sure what is left for them to do song wise.. As long as its super emotional with many fireworks, I will be happy.

I absolutely love Happily Ever After and I am so glad I will be able to see it one more time before it closes, but I do think the new show will be better for crowd management because the projections will extend along Main Street.

Anything that spreads the crowds more would be better. I love HEA, but it was hard to watch. I'm hoping for more in the sky and less projections. Or projections everywhere, every land, not just castle and Main Street.

I really hope they can bring back a piece of Wishes into the new show, I like HEA a lot, but I loved wishes, and it really envoked an emotional response more than HEA did. I told my daughter, if they ever bring back a short run of Wishes, we would fly down even if it was just for a night. I don't plan to break that promise. We always stay about a week, but we can only do that for the summer, but I would fly to FL to watch Wishes for one night only any time of the year.

So this is really sad news to me because after my beloved Wishes was gone I took awhile but I adore HEA! I arrive 9/29 and had planned to go to the MK that night but I think I will watch from my room at the Poly because it is going to be a huge crowd. I am glad we got to see them a few weeks ago after they started back up! That was a bonus treat for sure now!!

But what about the 30th?? Why are they gypping me of one night fireworks :sad2:

The park closes earlier on the 30th, as well... 8 pm.

This would be awesome. Also gives you reason to see the show multiple times... each land provides a slightly varied experience.

This is good news to me. Between the projections being hard to see, too few actual fireworks, and the fact it didn’t move me emotionally, I hope what is next is better. And expands the viewing area around the park so you don’t have to be packed in. The crowding after the show to get out is actually a bit terrifying to me, so I always had to find a more distant place which meant the show was subpar because of its reliance on projections. The music and fireworks told the story in Wishes, projections were secondary. I hope they return to something like that.

Complete honesty...I was so underwhelmed with HEA the first time I saw it. It was a crappy night, kid were in a bad mood, I was in a bad mood, and I was seriously pissed they took away Wishes.

A few years later, I get a little sentimental when Friend Like Me plays as it was my daughters floor routine music for 2 years and then full out ugly cry when Mufasa speaks and says "You are more than what you have become." I can not imagine ANYTHING topping HEA...and so many memories tied into it.

I am so glad I am getting to see it 1 more time before they do away with it...but hoping to be won over with their new show!

I was(am) really upset about HEA going away, but everyone does have some important points about visibility of the show. WDW should really take a note from Disneyland's book and do projections around the whole park. There is no reason they can't do projections on the back of the castle and on the shops in Frontierland.

Have you seen the HEA from outside of the magic kingdom? In my opinion its much much better from contemporary, the resorts, etc with the music piped in. Fireworks are much more than wishes, and you get to really see them. From inside the part, it doesn't seem like so much

This below however, is the BEST firework show they have ever done, and they should have never changed it to its current format of barely any fireworks. It's terrible now ( the updated version )

I’ve just got to a place where I accepted and loved HEA, and was over my bitterness about Wishes and they go and fo this. I’m really sad. I was hoping to see it again. When we go in February it’ll be the new show and I’m not that excited about that, I’ll just be missing HEA. If I had known the last time we saw it would be THE last time, I would’ve soaked it in more. I’m still bitter about illuminations too lol. Happy though to see the other shows and attractions that are coming back. Can’t wait to go back!

And this is why we scheduled a trip to WDW to see it one more time. It's my absolute favorite, never a fan of Wishes.

There is something to be said about it being so projection heavy and needing to be in the hub to see it. I hope with whatever new show they come out with, it's mostly fireworks so that we don't have to get in that mass of people to see them.

If HEA wasn't so projection heavy, we would've scheduled a cruise for them. But that's way too much money to miss so much of the show.
