Sunday October 9, 2005. What were we thinking when we made 7 am ADR's @ GFC for the morning after our wedding
needless to say we were about 55 minutes late, but the restaurant was almost empty. We love the GF in general and adore the GFC. We were particularly excite about this breakfast. If your interested in a review of the food click here . We were graciously welcomed and quickly taken to our table by Marvin. If you ever get a few moments to chat with this CM he is a wonderful example that personifies Disney Magic. You can just tell how much he loves his job. He kept telling me how good a job I did picking such a beautiful wife, which of course had DW blushing ten shades of red. He left a returned with a beautiful rose which he gave to my wife as a token gift. He talked a few minutes more with us and was off to make other guest happy. WE had many of the CMs stop by our table and congratulate us, it was so nice
. Our server who was very sweet and attentive brought us the check and informed us that the mimosas were complmentary to toast our new life together, WOW that was pixie dust I wasn't expecting. We were very gracious for that and all the other "extras" CMs and even guest did for us. Here is a picture of us waiting for our food.
After eating way too much it was off to the MK to buy the infamous honeymoon hats and then re-visit the site which I proposed to my DW. Now I only agreed to where them on the 1st day to make DW happy. After getting over the first 2 hours of feeling like a dork, I started to warm up to the idea. Everything people say about wearing the honeymoon ears is true, if you are going WEAR THEM!!! It is so fun to talk to people about your excitement and listen to their stories and CMs treat you like gold. We had read post about things that have happened, but were not expecting anything and we were showered with pixie dust all through the trip. The park was very crowded by 11 am, which was to be expected on columbus day weekend, so we had already hit our favorite ride and started to do a little shopping on our way back to the resort. The sun was very bright and DW had forgotten her sunglasses @ home so we were looking for another pair. The cast member at the shop asked if we had talked to mickey today. We of course sad no, she quickly picked up the phone and dialed a number then handed it to my wife, repeating th process for me when DW was finished. It was a very cute recording of Mickey & Minnie talking about romance and marriage and of course cake!! Very cute and a very nice touch. We decided to head back to the resort for a nap before our dinner @ Jiko. The dining review link above has a review of Jiko as well. We were very impressed with Jiko. It was elegant yet casual at the same time. Being wine fans we were excited about trying South African wines. We settled on a bottle of Rudero Shiraz. It was very smooth with a rich full taste. It was a vibrant red with an amazing boquet the seemed to get richer with each smell. It complimented both our meals very well. Another full day behind us and we were exhausted, so it was early to bed. Tomorrow was our V&A chef's table so we wanted to rest up for that.
