I am hoping someone can tell me what is the drink that is served at the Plaza Inn, Happiest Birthday on Earth. We had our daughters birthday there last month, and being Aussies, have no idea what it was.

Our 3 year old loved the drink, but hubby and I thought it was awful.

When we went it was Lemonade.princess:

Liquid sugar :rotfl: That's probably not far from the truth. We went last year and it was red fruit punch.

Pretty much liquid sugar. After that and the frosting, sprinkles, candy they give you to decorate, my 4 year old was flying high!!!! Dh was as well come to think of it. But we will be doing it again in May. My dd still talks about this quite vividly, she LOVED it. princess:

Thanks guys. I am guessing it was Lemonade. What we call lemonade here is what I think you guys call Sprite or 7up.

Everytime my daughter has a drink from her 'birthday cup', she wants the drink she had at Disneyland. Thank goodness we can't get it here. Last thing I need is a hyperactive 3 year old.

You can easily make lemonade at home, and use far less sugar than what was likely in the drink you had. Just start with a recipe like this, only put in less sugar, adding more till it becomes palatable. It will taste a LOT better , too. (My 4yo DD is a huge lemonade fan!) (Don't worry about the fact that AU measurements aren't the same as US- this is a pretty flexible recipe, so as long as you taste while you are making, it should turn out fine.)

Tasty Lemonade

INGREDIENTS:
6 lemons, juiced
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ice cubes

In a large pitcher, combine fresh lemon juice and water. Stir in brown sugar until it dissolves. Stir in ice cubes.

Also, you could easily use whatever sugar- doesn't need to be brown. Just don't use powdered.

It's Minute Maid's Light Lemonade--the same one as comes out of the soda machines at all the park restaurants.

Problem solved. Thanks iceskatejen.

Thanks for the recipie Kimberlina. I will give it a go.

In that case, it doesn't contain tonnes of sugar. It's made with splenda or nutrasweet or something.

Hi Jade - I'm not where you are located, but we get "Lemon" Lemonade, not Sprite or 7up at places like the Easter Show and ECCA. I've also seen it at other country shows.
