It is the parents with dollar signs in the eyes that are the problems. They would rather ride on their children's coat tails and be fake famous by being a Disney stars parent than by disciplining their children. Billy Ray went a step further by getting to be in the show with Miley, so he made money off of her by acting with her.

I was really looking for the quotation marks on "acting".

It's a good article, but I'm sure most people won't read it before making an ignorant post.

I'm sure if Disney approached any one of us in the park and said they wanted to sign our kids to a Disney contract potentially worth millions of dollars we would politely say "No thank you, we want them to have a "normal" life.".

I guess the reason I posted was to point out that what looks to be so good in the beginning ends up so bad in the end. Linday Lohan has been in the news a lot -- she had a real good start with Disney but went the wrong way. So it is with Miley. And looking back, her dad can say now he made the wrong choice.

Wouldn't it be nice to learn a lesson from this and see future Disney "stars" held in check somewhat? He discusses her "handlers" and how they kept him out of the picture until they needed a fall guy. Perhaps future Disney parents would be wise to not let that happen. This article could be a wake-up call to some of the parents of other teen stars so that they don't let things get out of hand the way he did.

Wouldn't it be nice if the Disney execs would be more responsible themselves with the lives of these young stars?

I do have to say I feel sorry for the "pittance" daddy made while acting on the show. Heck, he made more in three weeks than we make in a year. It's a rough life but somebody has to live it, poor guy.

I bet if she was from a non-disney sitcom it would not be such a big deal. From what I have read, which was not much, what she was smoking was not even illleagle. Would I want my daughter smoking it? No, but she was not even breaking the law. She is Girl, now young Woman, who spent her major formative years in a bright spotlight and is doing a little rebelling. I did some things at 18 I am not proud of, but I learned my lesson. Lets hope she can look back with the same view.

Whos to say her parents would not have found another reason to get divorced if this show never happened.

From an interview my wife was telling me about she was being bullied in school befor the show started. If that was allowed to continue she might be in worse shape than she is now.

All I ma saying is lets not judge anyone too harshly, because you never know what path the other choice might have lead you down.
