DH and I were discussing this and, frankly, we don't see the big deal either. Body doubles are used in live theater all the time. It's a very common technique to either let the actor change clothing or positions on the stage without interruption in the action.

I wasn't offended by it, but I thought why did they decide to use a fake HM? They could have let her exit and then Jonas Brothers could sing one more number? They did two songs I think anyway. It seemed a dumb decision to have a fake walk around in sunglasses instead of just letting her exit at the end of the song. Was the 30 seconds that crucial in the transformation? But like I said we still enjoyed the concert.

I don't have a problem with the body double......

I am wondering how the mother/daughter who videoed the switcheroo got felt brave enough to come forward when they used a video recording device when it was obvious that it wasn't allowed.

I think that they will test her, but if she can continue to handle it well, they will move on to someone else. Really, who cares!

I don't see what the huge deal is. Back in like 1994, we went to see Garth Brooks. When the concert started, a piano came out of the stage and the person playing it appeared to be him (head down, Garth hat, etc). Everyone went nuts. The song came to a faster part and Garth burst out of the middle of the piano.

It was a cool effect. I certainly was not crabbing all over the internet that I was "duped" for 30 freakin seconds.

I agree with Devil Duckie. She won't get drunk and drive or go into rehab or show her goodies to the world, so the press needs something to harp on her about.
