Handicapped Seats and La Nouba

Hello wonderful Dis people!! I have a new question for you.

My kids have decided they'd like to see La Nouba So my question is how do they handle handicapped seating? Do I have to pay a fortune to sit up front (which I don't really want to do, I'd like to sit on the second or third level) or can they accommodate me on the other floors?

There will be 5 of us.

Also any advantages to either of the two show times?

Any other tips?

I'm pretty excited about this. I've always wanted to see it but my kids were always put off by the clowns. Now I just have to decide between this and the Candlelight Processional

I would love to know this answer as well! We have seen Cirque du Soliel locally & have loved it! But a show this large, has made us a bit concerned about the seating.

We have seen the show several times and there is seating for everyone depending on what you need.

The first time we ended up using a wheelchair and not transferring. We sat in 205 LL 8-10. It was center which is good and we used the elevator to enter the building. The elevator entrance is different from the other entrances. As you face the building it is on the far left and there is an attendant who takes you up one or two groups at a time. The elevator is very small! Our problem with these seats is the distance to the show. My mother has very poor eyesight and she basically missed the entire show!

So the next year we decided to try it again and and use the wheel chair to get her to the seat but then transfer. I called a special services number that the regular ticketing people gave me. I explained exactly what happened the year before and that we needed to be able to see the show. This CM set us in in 204 AA 14 -16. Now these were perfect seats for us. My mom did have to step up one step when arrived at the seats. But we were front and center for the entire show.

Now if you can not step up one step then there is seating at 103 H 9-13 or 104 H 11-15 or 102 H 3-7 but be aware that the start of the program will be behind you as the performers enter the show by walking in on the walkway between the 100 and 200 sections.

Also If you are in any of the 100 sections you will spend much of the show looking up as the performers will be directly above your head at times.

We like the lower 200 sections in the center! I would not choose to sit any closer to the stage than that.

I hope you enjoy the show. It is absolutely one of the most incredible things we have ever seen.

Also the music can be loud so if you have anyone sensitive to noise I would bring ear plugs or a ear protectors.

Do you know that the candle light processional tickets are free? Of course it is best to get a meal package and then you are guaranteed a seat and you wait in a shorter line. If you need any special accommodations there is another line for people with the package tickets and any special needs. We needed to be by the sign language section so we ended up in a different line to the right of the package line. It is an fantastic show also and one I would definitely try to see again!

DH told me last night that he really doesn't want to see La Nouba (too pricey). He said he'd go if we all REALLY wanted to. So I guess I need to see what the kids really want to do.

There are disability seats in all four seating sections of the theatre, but not entire rows. Don't be worried about the back row! There are only 19 rows in the entire theatre and from the back row to the front of the stage is only about 150 ft or so. It's a very small and intimate theatre I actually think it's possible to sit too close!

As far as I can recall all those boxed seat sections are made for wheel chairs and scooters. The chairs are removable so others in your party can sit next to a wheel chair or scooter.

The 100 sections are great seats and of course the closer to the center the better, I think! Bus just remember that the start of the show will be behind you. You will need to turn your head a lot to see the performers start the show and to see the entire pre-show!

Make sure you ask for the special seating number in order to get into these sections. I have the number somewhere but for the life of me I can not put my hands on it right now

I agree about sitting too close. That is why we prefer the front of the 200 sections. We found the back rows just too far back to really see well. My mom has macular degeneration and she just could not enjoy the show from back there.

It is a costly show but one that is oh so worth every penny!

We have sat in 103 twice now and have loved the show there. We just though the 200 seats would be to far back.

DEFINITELY see La Nouba!!! Your hubby WILL change his mind about it after he has seen it!!!!

The last time I saw it, we were sat in the HC seats (between the lower and upper levels) even though that's not where our tickets were for. I'd have rather sat where we were s'posed to, as we had tickets on the upper level ("balcony") which is better to sit in than the first level for Cirque shows (perhaps the only type of show where you DON'T want front-row seats!). But, the seats were good except that when the tightrope walkers did their thing, we had to really crane our necks up to see them. We also were on the side rather than the center, so that didn't help for seeing the tightrope walkers, either. But the rest of the show views just fine from that area.

We were the only ones sitting in that HC section. I'm not sure why they put us there without asking (we arrived after the show had already started), if it was because we took the elevator (my friend can't do stairs well, but didn't bring the ECV to the show so they'd not have known that) or because of my service dog (perhaps they thought I couldn't do stairs - they're not the best or easiest for me, but I can do them when I need to) or because I had my Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique funky blue pop 'do in (perhaps it would block the view of the person behind me?). I didn't know what they were doing and since the show was already begun, couldn't really say anything, so we took those seats 'cause my friends said it was fine with them.

Like others said, they have all folding chairs in that area, so the chairs can be removed quickly and easily to accommodate a WC or ECV. Do try to get seats in the center, though, instead of way on the sides!
