Handicapped @ POP 2 beds?

We are traveling with my MIL and she can't do stairs or walk long distances. We are staying at POP and will have 2 rooms. We need two beds in each room since we are a total of 7 people. I wanted to request a handicapped room mostly to have a room either near the elevator or on the 1st floor. A walk in shower for her would be really good too and rails near the toilet. So do any of the handicapped rooms have 2 beds? From looking it seems like they are King rooms. Also we would love connecting. Any insight?

I could be wrong but I do believe that all the handicap rooms are king rooms.

If your main reason for the room is the location; no need for an accessible room. Have them note the location request due to medical needs. Accessible rooms are scattered throughout the resort and by no reason are they always close to anything. Same thing goes for the floors; they'll be on all of the floors.

Now needs for grabbars, a roll in shower, a communication kit etc. are needs that would want you to book an accessible room. Did you know there are 2 types of accessible room? You might want to check out the disABILITIES board on the DIS, and specifically the FAQ-sticky with all kinds of info in there about roomreservations and any disability.

You can book these rooms just like any other non accessible room could be booked. For POP that would mean; max. 4 people into one room. You can book an accessible room in the same way. Disney will notice the amount of folks on the reservation and make sure there are enough sleeping arrangements for that amount of booked people in that specific room.
