Handicap Placard Question

I am recovering from a ruptured Achilles' tendon. I will need my placard for parking at Vero beach & restaurants around town.
I also would like to use it for airport parking here so the question...
If I park in handicapped parking at the airport and take my placard what to do?
Maybe leave a photocopy on my dashboard???
Anyone ever face this problem? I will call tomorrow but figured I would check here first.

Either or. Massachusetts doesn't issue travel placards (some states do). A photocopy isn't valid. You can, and likely will, be ticketed - and possibly towed. If you're flying out of Logan, use Logan Express out of Framingham. The lot shouldn't be so big that you can't park in a standard space.

I don't know what the parking situation is at your airport, but at Orlando, the remote (long-term) lots have shuttle buses that stop at several shelters in the lots. It was easy to find a non-handicapped space right next to one of the bus shelters further back from the lot entrance.

Some off-site parking lots also have shuttles that will pick you up and drop you off within steps of your car, or offer valet parking.

My son has a handicap parking placard and I was able to get two of them since we have two vehicles. There was no charge for the 2nd one. Is this an option for you?

It's not an option in Massachusetts. The RMV apparently doesn't see a need. Personally, I can see potential for fraud. Since the placard is movable (between/among vehicles) and the issuee has to be in or entering or exiting the vehicle and can't be in two vehicles at one time, really there isn't a reasonable case for two here.
