Handicap parking from out of state

I am taking my elderly mother to Disneyworld nex week. She has a California handicap paking tag that can be taken from car to car. Can we use this at Disney Florida?

I also have a hanging tag for handicapped parking issued by my state Department of Motor Vehicles. I have used it in several states besides where I live including WDW in FL. I have never had a problem.

Handicapped tags from other states are accepted.

All states in the US recognize the handicap plates or hang tags issued by any other state.

HOWEVER!!!!!! the seat of our government, the District of Columbia, will ticket any car using a hang tag issed by any jurisdiction except itself. Please complain to your Congressman.

Thanks all. Mom is so happy and so are we.

Mom feels like she slows us and our kids down. Between going to the accessable entrance to many rides and parking in front, she feels like her age and lack of accessability is an opportunity to help.

To us just having her is great, but feeling like she's contibuting makes her trip more fun.

You don't need to let your Mom know this but you do need to be prepared going to the accessible entrance also means in many cases you wait longer then you would if didn't need to use them. The days of going to the front of the line are long gone.

I never understand the parking issue because I remember the days before kids in wheelchairs when we parked and got on a tram that dropped you off at the front. Well, parking at MK is a pretty good hike not to mention the hill to the top of the monorail. My advice is don't take the monorail but take the boat to MK. I remember pushing my oldest DD up that hill to the monorail when she was 7 before she was able to push herself up and I can't image pushing an adult up that hill.

i agree with Michigan about the monorail (and the accessible entrances too). The ramp is basically a long, steep hill that takes you up to the level of the monorail (2nd floor + level).
Previously, the boat dock was sometimes not accessible to guests using wheelchairs because of differences in water levels. Safari Steve (a MK CM) recently posted that the boat docks have been replaced and are now always accessible. The down side id that he said there is now a ramp to the docks. I haven't seen it, but the ramp to the docks would be nowhere near as high as the ramp to the monorail.
If you are staying on site, riding the bus to MK works out best. The bus drops you off right by the turnstiles, avoiding the issue of the monorail all together.
